  1. http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.org/foru...ear+final+drive says it is 3.9. I would like it to be 3.9 :-) But when I check it (turning and counting) it seems to be 3.7 :-( Piotr
  2. I have spare gearbox. It is 5 speed, dual range (1:1.592) gearbox taken of 1800 wagon (carb, non turbo). It has 3 position lever: fwd, 4wd and 4wd reductioned. The question is: is it 3.7 or 3.9 ratioed ??? Piotr
  3. I am sure it's (was) OK. Nevertheless - now - timing belts and valve cover are out. I turn camshaft (by hand) to get intake valve closed. I put pressed air into spark hole and it goes freerly throught intake valve. It is open all 360 deg. of turning Sorry for my english... Piotr
  4. The problem is different.... Everything is reassembled "oiled" and moves freely. When I take off camshaft and all that stuff - alle valves are closed. It looks like valve rods are too long.... Strange....
  5. I did rebuild EA82T. It wasnt'n my old engine - I bought it as a core just for rebuild. So I know nothing about it's past.... (unfortunately) Heads were just plained - valves looked so nice that I decided not to touch it. I also left old lifters. After rebuilding engine had no compression at #2 cylinder and nearly no compression at #1. I took it of because I was sure it's lifters problem. I change all lifters and the problem stays.... No compression. I investigated problem deeper and It is intake valves (both cylinders) problem. They are open all the time!!!! Do you have any idea what I did wrong ? Maybe I changed someting or whatever.... Any IDEAS ???? Piotr
  6. Sure - I will change rear diff if necessary. The point is I need to know what should I look for - non turbo wagon or non FT4wd wagon to get 1.59 ratio..... Piotr
  7. I would like to know if reduction ratios in D/R gearbox (88 wagon) depends on what kind of gearbox it is (normal -1.59; ft4wd - 1.19) or if it is turboed (turbo - 1.19; N/A - 1.59). Mine is turbo AND ft4wd so I have awsome 1.19 but I want to change it so I need to know what should I look for to get 1.59.... Piotr
  8. Thanks for info. But - apart of power holding - does it fits ??? All "phisical" connections? Piotr
  9. I have ocassion to buy EJ20 twin turbo complete engine but without ECU. It would be nice to have 260 HP :-). 1. Does it fit to EA82T gearbox in my turbo wagon? 2. How easy/difficult is to find ECU and all wires for that engine? Is it possible to buy any aftermarket ECU for that engine with harness? How can I run it other way ? Piotr
  10. Thanks for answers. How can i recognize N/a and turbo block?? At turbo block: should I find there "EA82T" or just "EA82" written? Piotr
  11. I have 1988 EA82 with turbo engine in my subaru. Unfortunately - somebody before me did a lot of mess with this engine... The engine block is in very poor condition... As it is difficult to find EA turbo version in my country I would like to ask how about using EA82 N/A block ?? As I think - heads are different from Turbo and non-turbo appl. but how about short-block ??? It blocks are the same I could use new shot block form N/A engine and my Turbo heads ? Does it makes sense ?? thanks Piotr
