  1. it will work just take the shrader valves out of the compression guage hose
  2. I would not go as far to say its the worst engine they ever made mine is still running at 315,000 miles and running strong only had to reseal the rear main and valve covers once and the water pump just started leaking i left the stock one on just to see how long it would last since it is so easy to do a timing belt on any subaru. i have owned 1.8 2.2 and 2.5 and 2.0 and i say they are all decent engines depending on application and needs.
  3. Hey Gloyale thanks for the input, when you say "You could do a 2 inch kit, and include the crossmember spacers and control arm mounts from teh outback". Are you saying that if i add those parts to my current setup that i will gain an additinal 2" of lift? Thanks Again Jordan
  4. Hello everyone, I've recently been wondering if it would be possible to get a 4" or 2" lift kit and install it on my 94 Impreza L along with my forester struts that are already installed. I know it was a tight squeeze getting those struts in there so im guessing its not possible just curious if anyone else has tryed it. Thanks Jordan
  5. Hello everyone and good day. I know this is a dreadful question that has probably been asked before but here i go any how. What is the difference between a ea82 P\T D\R and a F\T once the P\T has been put into 4wd? Does the P\T have a lower "low range" and which one would be better for an offroad rig? Thanks Jordan
  6. Thanks for the advice i joined over there today, you wouldnt wanna come off your ej d/r now would you? lol
  7. I appreciate all of your input and patience! I believe Im going to go with combo one, I still have alot of parts to aqcuire but once i have everything Ill be sure to document the swap for the users of USMB to enjoy! Thanks Jordan
  8. Did you find it on a web page or what any info would be appreciated. Thanks Jordan
  9. There was a little misunderstanding between me and the other party im going to be purchasing this trans off of. Its actually a P\T trans with the 4h 4l and FWD options(5sp), I believe its out of a dl but not sure. I have read through your entire thread but i cant remeber what trans you used im assuming it was a P\T due to your last post. Im a little confused on which way to go with this project I would like to use an e82 DR but still retain my subys stock 4.11 final drive. I've heard rumors that it might be possible to remove the transfer box from te EA and mate it to the EJ front diff case. Its either give that a try or find a F\T trans and try the same swap you did and see how it goes. Any one know of anyone with a e82 F\T that they are trying to get read of?
  10. The trans im about to purchase is a 5sp ea82 D\R with the 4h 4l and FWD. Would it be possible to put an ej 5sp 4.11 diff in this trans?
  11. Sounds like it would be worth a try ill have to look into it more. Where did you find an EJ D\R if i could find one of them i would just buy it instead of going through all the trouble of mateing the e82 box on my ej diff case.
  12. Can you get an adapter plate to mount the e82 box to the center diff of the EJ trans or is there other means of going about it? Who has tryed this is there an old post on this topic?
  13. I see so the P\T is a 4 speed and the FT is a 5, im new to these old subaru parts so excuse me for not knowing. My plans are to put the e82 trans in my 94 Imp L so here is another question for you if you dont mind. Which trans would you recommend for off road use the FT or the PT? Or are they both relativly the same?
  14. Do you have to use the Ft4x4 D\R or can you use the P\T?
