  1. I also want to add a thank you from Troy and myself. We had a fantastic time. It was good to see all the great people. I've missed you in my absence from this message board. - I've rarely posted but I used to get on to at least read up on what everyone was up to.
  2. Q-man, I'm going to be in the area the day before so I'm going to buy my permits then. Thanks for offering to get them but I don't need to be added to your list.
  3. Troy and I will be there. We each really want a tree for our respected apartments. I'm going to hopefully be in my parent's Saturn that day so I will have to park at the bottom. Can we go up with someone else for the snow play and tree chopping? I can take the trees home on the car I'm driving I just don't want to slide off the road. My mom did that once already a few years back When do we have to ask for the passes? I might be able to get my two tomorrow but I might not. I'll let you all know if I get them if it's not too late. ~Connie
  4. Patti (Wrench Princess) and I will be there Sunday. Might make it late Friday night but I have to be in Seattle again on Saturday night. ~Connie
  5. Thanks Austin, I know I'm cuter than any of the girls at Hooters. I actually like that resteraunt. It's a good all age place, but there aren't little kids around. I even thought of applying there once, but I didn't want my girl scout summer camp boss getting a call for a reference. lol The food is pricey though. So if someone else pays, I'm in. ~Connie
  6. I could go on Saturday night. I'm busy Saturday till like 2 pm. And I have school bright and early monday morn. How easy would it be to find by myself? I could just show up for a short while. ~Connie
  7. Northguy, Thank you for knowing that I didn't mean any insult to the hunters and fishers in our group. Mike W, I know that NOLS and AMC split the master's courses. I don't know much about either organization beyond that. I will most likely be taking the Master's course from NOLS since they have two Washington locations. The real reason why I am taking the courses is that I'm a Girl Scout leader. My council doesn't have any trainers currently so they are trying to build a team of trainers by offering a scholarship for the master's class. Of course, the chances are slim that I'll be chosen for the scholarship, but I figure I might as well try. And when I saw the Subaru affiliation, I knew that the ultimate subaru members would be a great group to take the prerequisites with. ~Connie
  8. Leave No Trace is an organization that educates people about the importance of minimal impact training. We all know how to not litter. But it goes into things like, how many inches of dirt to bury grey water under so that no animals can smell it, and how many feet away from a water source one can "answer nature's call". The class that I want to take takes two days to teach I think. For a total of like 12 hours of instruction. I need to take the course by this summer in order to take the Master's course that I want to take. If I can get enough people together I'm sure that I can set it for whichever weekend is more convenient for everyone. I know how nature oriented this group is. Many are hunters/fishers, or just enjoy the outdoors. I think it would be a fun group to take the course with. ~Connie
  9. I am planning on taking the Leave No Trace Masters Program this fall. In order to do that I need to take the Trainer’s Workshop first. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me for this class. I’m sure that if we got enough people interested we could have the Subaru-Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers come in their Limited Edition L.L. Bean Subaru Outbacks and teach the course. Also, I’ve heard that anyone who completes the Master’s Program can get good discounts on new Subarus! I just want to get an idea of who might be interested before I contact Leave No Trace. Also, I wonder if they could get us a class discount because of our Subaru affiliation?!? More info can be found at http://lnt.org/ ~Connie
  10. Is this when I say I want a few too?!? One for me, and maybe one for christmas for people... and I could easily get my little sister hooked at an early age. ~Connie :santa:
  11. I love that you guys are so supportive of us women on the board. My goal in life is to be self-sufficient, so learning how to handle car problems is definately a step. I didn't appreciate it as much until this weekend when I approached a contracter who was working on a house in town and asked him if he'd give me an estimate for installing a foundation on my dad's house. He said, "have your dad come and talk to me" and turned back to his work. I was livid, but also speechless at the same time, so I went away. He won't be getting our money, no way. Through the years of having more male friends than female friends, I have learned one bit of advice to tell them. "I don't care if you forget that I'm a girl, but don't ever forget that I'm a women." ie. I don't care if you burp in front of me, but leave me alone when I'm cramping. ~Connie WW
  12. Yay Patti!!!!!!!! We are the "Princess and the Wench" I think I see a movie title there. Anyone want to write it? It can be co-titled; "Silver and Gold". But we have to be the actresses, and we have to get trailers. Though I guess a Suby Wagon would do Yay Wrenches. ~Connie WW
  13. So now I finally have a working wagon. Pulled it out of the yard at Tom's house put a new radiator and y-pipe on it and it passed emissions no problem (did I mention the motor has 270+k miles on it). It still makes some odd noises and i need to get the heater fan to work though. Oh yeah, and now i need to put a new finder on it thanks to some idiot in a ford (bubble) taurus who ran a stop sign on me (I squished his whole front corner good so i didn't care too much). At least I didn't even break a headlight.
  14. If I'm not in Tenino that day, and I don't get a sudden urge of motivation to work on my own car, Troy and I will be there. I've told Troy that he is not to do any major 4-wheeling until he can pay off his car. Even the price of tabs killed him this time. But as long as it's a lot like the last x-mas tree run, it'll be cool! Yay for christmas break and mondays off! ~WW :santa:
  15. Good thing you can both swim! I can't wait to win the lotto so that I'll have time to go on trips like that with you guys. But of course, the other half of my brain is telling me that I would have been scared to death even watching it. I guess I'm glad I didn't go Thanks for taking pictures though so I can off-road vicariously from my swivel chair. ~Connie
