  1. I removed the tranny on my ej22 to replace the clutch and had similair difficulty coaxing the tranny and engine back together. I managed to get them fairly close but definitely had to use the bolts for the last few inches.
  2. Well, they're not the same but, they can be made to work. I did this about two months ago and so did someone else on the board. Pretty easy to mod to fit. The front mounting holes need to be widened. In the rear, you can lenghten the holes or add a small piece of metal to extend it. (I did the latter; other guy on the board took the "smarter, easier" route.) Sorry to hear about the oilpan!
  3. Thanks guys! Thing is, the insurance company totalled it but, there is not much damage except what I mentioned; the fuel filler/tank appear to be fine. I did start the car again and it continued running, albeit very roughly. CEL also was flashing! To further complicate things the car has a bad tranny, due to the jerks at the shop where I bought the car doing a half-a$$ed job on a transplant from another car with unknown miles. This thing is going to eat up my time now that the weather is nice®. I might end up parting this Imp out if I can't fix it myself.
  4. Hello all. I have a 95 Impreza L Wagon 2.2 eat4 that was totaled (rear-ended - hatch, tail light, quarter panel and window) in November '05. It has been pretty much sitting since then. I went out to start it today and it started up but idled very rough and then quickly died. Vaccuum hoses all look good from what I can see; engine has oil in it. I am going back out to check a few more things, spark plugs, O2 sensor wiring, anything else i am familiar with. I am decent at repairing my cars when I know what needs to be done, however, diagnosis is tough for me. Any suggestions as to what else I should check/inspect would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Paul
  5. Yeah I did the same on my 97 Imp with an EA82 skidplate a few weeks back. I was at a junkyard looking for a Forester for some struts/springs because I was inspired by all the bad Soobs on this board. No luck with the Forester, but I found the skidplate and it looked like it would bolt right on. As mentioned above, that is not the case. I drilled the front holes a little wider and added a piece of metal to extend the back holes a few inches to bolt onto the empty holes on the crossmember. Good to know I won't smash my oilpan. Haven't bent it yet!
  6. I am about 70 mi. south of philly near b-more. I bought my first sube about nine months ago and now own two(one that doesn't "work" right now). I jumped on this thread 'cause you guys seem to be the closest Subiacs I might find. Just wanted to say hey and would like ot get to know some of you in the area.
