  1. Sorry for not responding sooner. I don't have any affiliation with the place. I was just pointing it out. I think they ship parts, though. Unfortunately, it appears the ad expired.
  2. I happened to see this on craigslist near me. I seem to remember it being for sale about a year or 2 ago. It appears to be an XT6 with WRX wheels on it. As I recall it was a 5-speed one. I haven't had a chance to check it out, but I thought I would point it out, if anyone needs something from it. http://nashville.craigslist.org/ptd/4021970898.html
  3. I ran 87 octane in mine here in TN, and I never had any trouble with detonation. Overheating...sure, but that wasn't the fuel's fault. The turbo EA82 only has 7.7:1 compression. I used to get 23-24 around town and 26-28 highway in my old 5-speed 87 GL-10 4WD Turbo Wagon. Honestly, I was disappointed with that, because my dad's old 2WD 5-speed turbo XT used to get 32-35 in mostly highway driving, and my old slushbox 2WD XT6 got 20 city and 27-28 highway.
  4. I didn't mean for this to turn into a for sale thread, but I think I'm going to have to make one. I've got this and my 240SX stored at my dad's house, and I need to make some space as well as helping him get rid of some of his extra vehicles (last count he had 9 cars there, and many more at his other place). I have to be honest that if I haven't gotten to it by now, I probably won't get to it. I'd rather someone else get some enjoyment out of it. I'll take some better pictures of it next weekend and post them. That picture makes it look a bit better than it really is.
  5. Heh...we don't get much snow in Nashville. I've not even come across anything my Genesis coupe couldn't drive through fine the past 2 years. I would mostly be fixing it back up for nostalgia's sake. My dad also has an '03 WRX wagon that I was planning on picking up from him. I'm just running out of space
  6. I can do it myself. I've already replaced the clutch on it. The trouble is, I also have the 240SX in front of it that needs something done with its motor, and i never seem to get around to it. It actually has fairly low mileage (~125K miles IIRC). My dad actually bought it in '92, and I used to drive it in high school. It's just pretty much sat around since '95. I was all set to at least get it up and running for rallycrosses around here, but they stopped doing them . I got a little discouraged when the sunrook leak made the interior stink, too. I'm not sure if I can clean it enough to get rid of the smell.
  7. So I've been trying to decide if I should tackle rebuilding my old '87 GL-10 4WD Turbo 5-speed. It's leaking coolant out of both head gaskets, and the interior isn't smelling so great due to a sunroof leak, that I managed to seal now. It still runs and boosts OK, but stumbles and puffs some white smoke. I'm guessing both head gaskets are bad and possible the heads are cracked, too. Think it's worth saving?
  8. Well, I pulled the tank on my 87 GL-10 that's been sitting for around 11 years, and the fuel was a disgusting mess. It looked like a crosse between maple syrup and road tar on the level float. Most of the fuel didn't look that bad, but it has a nasty layer of varnish and other gummy residue inside it. I was looking at acids and things to clean it, but I was concerned about the pickup and any filters that might be inside it. I can't really see what it has inside, but I assume it must have a pickup in the bottom of the tank feeding the line on the front. It would barely flow anything out of the line to the pump. Has anyone ever tried cleaning one before? I'm going to see what I can do with this one, but I'm thinking I might have to replace the tank.
  9. I've got my 87 GL-10 4WD Turbo wagon at my Dad's house near Bellefontaine, OH. It's almost back to life, after sitting since around '95 (bought it in '92). I've got to clean out the gas tank and hope that the stuff in the tank didn't kill the fuel pump. Do let me know if you guys go on a junkyard run. I need a few parts for my car, and I don't know the area so well.
