  1. Hey, if you dont like those Dual Headlights, I'd trade you my quad grill, etc straight across. I really like the Duals better and my Quad Grille's in good shape. Let me know. -Rissa-
  2. im trying to find a website that has picturs of older subaru brats (78-79) and what options they came with. i have a 78 brat what im trying to restore, i think someone changed the grill from a 2 head light to a 4 head light but im not sure. im not good at this whole finding stuff online thing so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great... rissa
  3. hey i was wondering what sorta front grill your 78 has?? is it a 2 head light or a 4 head light?? i have a 78 as well but i think somone changed the grill and im trying to find out which its suposed to be....
  4. Nice Ride, but out of my price range. I'd have to cut the car to pieces to get what I want out of it, and the subaru drivetrain sounds so much more fun- gonna be a significant amount of fabwork involved and that's always fun!
  5. the vr6 rabbit is at my house in Long Beach Washington (Near Astoria, OR) Dig Cam's busted right now, but I'll send pics soon. As for hating you cuz you love dubs? Hah! I love soobies for offroad in the logging roads around my house, but as far as driving, performance, speed, and handling, I'll take a Dub anyday. Partial to A1's (especially Rabbits) but can stomach a few A2's as well. Got a good collection of both soobies and dubs: 2 MKII Jettas 5 First Gen Rabbits 2 Second Gen Rabbits 1 MKII GTI 1 81 Caddie (getting a TDI Conversion) 2 90-92 Legacys 4 85-90 GL Wagons 1 84 GL Wagon 1 76 Brat 1 79 Brat 1 85 Brat No shortage of my favorite toys.
  6. my 1.8 is pretty peppy, and it had a 2.25 exhaust, but it works a little better with the 2.5.. anyways, i have no intention of changing anything on my bunny (and no turbo there- im a naturally aspirational guy if you know what I mean.) Besides, for a turbo you'd want a much smaller cam like a 266/268 or the like. Anyways, I've had the car for 18 years (since my 16th birthday) and it's gone through a lot of changes, but I think im finally done- too many other projects out there.
  7. \ My 8v's got: CIS with the distributor off the Volvo 2.3T Audi 5000 Plenum and TB TT 288 race cam TT Springs TT header 2.5" exhaust with flowmaster, Massive Porting with matched in/out head (25+Mil-I can drop a socket through the ports) Big valves Audi TT stainless steel crank Bilstein HD Struts with Neuspeed 1000F race springs and some other stuff, and it hauls rump roast. I can take all of my friends' stock A216V's as well as most Vr6 A3's and a ************load of A4's as well. Regardless, it might not be the fastest thing on wheels, but it's got serious torque from the Audi5000 plenum and is seriously well-balanced to boot.
  8. Did a 24v VR6 Rabbit. It was pretty ************ing fast. Also a few years ago, I went to Waterfest with a 36v Vr6 Golf which was also pretty fast, but I can't help but be an 8v freak. My own car- the best one, is an 85 1.9litre with a ************load of work done to it, and it hauls along good enough to keep up with the best of them
  9. I'm getting ready to start a build on an 84 GTI that's gonna look almost exactly like this (if i can find a set of BBS's like that in good condition - oh and minus the inner headlights) Still, I do love my bunnies, and it's refreshing to see that I'm not the only one in the subaru community with a love for the Dying A1 breed.
  10. i've got a megasquirt system i'd be willing to sell along with a set of GSXR1100 TB's . Also have a 2.0Litre 16v engine with TT276 Cams.. You can put A2 springs in a rabbit to stiffen it up.. Also I'm selling a Vr6 Rabbit with a full cage if this guy doesn't come pay for the work I did soon.
  11. id be very interested, but not for this project. let me know how much and send pics please!
  12. Last month, I posted this problem: I start my 87 Loyale which runs perfect at this point(Carbuerated Hitachi) and drive approx 1/4 mile (end of driveway.) Then it starts sputtering and I feather the gas to try to keep it going and it sputters and tries and tries and eventually dies. The consensus before was that it was a fuel pump so I bought a new one and it did the same thing. I then took the pump, strainers, etc out of my 86 Wagon (which works fine) and put it in there. Same thing. Also took the Carb out of the 86 which works fine also and put it in there. Same thing. wtf??????
  13. The last time I was at Portland Auto Wrecking there was an XT6 in the back with a perfect body.. spot I-29 or something
  14. well how many horsies are in that 2.2 anyways? 160hp in a rabbit sounds like a 1.8litre 16v..
  15. stock driveline cut and welded. Stock axles cut and welded. the engine cradle nearly fits- it will be close but i've got it hanging in place and the cutting wont be too extensive. and yeah, rabbits and dubs are my thing.
