  1. I was wondering I have 2004 subaru 35th anniversary edition sedan I was wondering if I put outback sedan struts in it and I was wondering how it would look and if I could do it?
  2. for sure i will check that i did although have the airfilter replaced not tolong ago i will check out that area and check all lines to
  3. Nope I was driving home from work one day and it just started making the noise and I heard it and that was it but no services were done prior.
  4. Hi thank you for responding well lets see I can hear it when the windows are open and closed does happen at around 40mph and squeals and as I speed up it goes away the noise is coming from the front of the car I suspect the engine somewhere or even the exhaust somewhere. I can not here it if it does it when turning, it seems to happen when I am driving. it does not matter whether the a/c is on or not either. with any electrical equip on does not matter either so its tough to figure out, the dealership had it all day and they claimed they could not hear it, sometimes I go at 40 or so and it will do it and I told them that to.
  5. it does not have any hubcaps it has alloy wheels the noise is coming from the fron tof the car more like the engine itself or within it.
  6. I never tried it but it goes away after after 40 mph and I speed up thats why it is hard to duplicate
  7. I have a unusual issue with my 2004 subaru 35th anniversary edition sedan, I have about 29k on it and have taken it do a dealer in my area pete's subaru here in western mass and have complained about a whistle noise or squeal noise about 40mph, I can get it to do it for me but the tech could not duplicate it of course. They told me it was a normal noise I was hearing from the ac condenser, um no I worked at a dealer and that is not a normal noise coming from the clutches in the ac condenser. So it happens in warm weather and cold weather. I have had the belts adjusted also and checked and they are fine so where is this noise coming from man it annoys me. please help with solutions or suggestions.:-\
  8. Hey just to let you know subaru discontinued the rainguards because of excessive windnoise coming from the passenger side only, it was aerodynamics problem. I had that problem on my 97 legacy L sedan. So yes I also had 99 outback also and got them aftermarket for them you can install them thay are easy to do. I have a 2004 subaru sedan right now and have them on it to.
  9. I am thinking about buying a second car a legacy outback from 1997-1999 what do u think? I am aware of oil leaks and headgasket problems but that is really not an issue. Timing belt replacement front cam seals 4 of them and crankseal and reseal the oil pump and for sure replace the rear main seal and seperator plate to a metal one because subaru put a plastic one on which was not very bright. So all let me know i am leaning more towards a 1997 outback.
  10. To answer your question I work at the dealership as a service advisor and I bought the car with 7k on it because the person who owned before me wanted a 2005 instead because she liked the new design, on the dealership vin #'s we check for recalls it brings up the car with all the options that came on it so it was factory installed. I have worked at this dealership for years and I know all about what models come with what and some 2004 subaru 35th Anniversary editions sedan either have the spoiler or don't and there are 2004 35th anniversary edition outbacks also.Mine model came with the spoiler and it was not installed correctly, in fact I know the subaru rep because he comes to my dealer once a month to see how things are going,so with that said it is being repaired by subaru not because I work at th,e dealership but because this should of not happened even the rep said that this is very unusual for this to happen and the car is very well taked care of also and very clean. Yes GT's come with spoilers but this 35th anniversary edition also comes with spoilers to as part of this edition, but not all of them it pretty much is a option of whether the factory installs it or not or even perhaps some of my customers have had them installed on there sedans, but again each dealer had the site direct from subaru and it tells all of the options and accesories that came with that model.
  11. Hello all! I have a rather rough situation to let u all know about. I currently own a 2004 subaru legacy 35th anniversary edition sedan with every possible option I love this car except for one thing. I opened my trunk and had noticed that where the spoiler was installed by the factory that the blots had rusted so bad that the paint had corroded and chiped off all around the spoiler bolts. At this time i took it to my subaru dealer to which they said that the subaru rep needs to look at it to authorize any body work done so he ok'd it and it will be in the body shop for 2 to 3 days while I am in a rental from the dealer, i am not very happry about this since i take great care of this car its a 2004 with the bumper to bumper still and is only 2 years old. My thought that is the factory installed sloppy or perhaps even from the port, i used to work at a subaru dealer so i know the tricks of the trade.I would be interested in hearing your input on this matter.
