  1. I couldn't think of the forum to put this in so i guess this will work.... I have just invested in a vacuum molding form machine so i am going to be experimenting with some custom pieces in the next few weeks here and possibly i will be making replica/custom peices that can feature custom logos, words, simple designs and lots more.....one of my main goals is to make a custom set of headlights using various "borrowed" parts from other cars, but i am going to start making the custom clear (or amber, red, etc) corner lenses and various other lenses for our cars since the aftermarket community has neglected us so much. I will upload some pix of the progress of the headlights and various other lenses that i am going to mess with (led tail lights and lots of other goodies in mind)......if anyone is interested let me know......i don't know how much it will be and how they will turn out at the moment but updates coming soon....
  2. how much would it be for a basic 6 pt roll cage for an EA82 wagon....i plan on using the front and rear seats still....
  3. you should do the two tone paint like on the corolla......i did it on my wagon but i kept the side moldings on there but you get the idea http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=7639867&albumID=3037515&imageID=72573412
  4. ok so i went to my local junkyard a couple of days ago and saw an xt down there.....it was the mpfi non-turbo, but i just wanted to get the spider intake off of it to put it on mine (sick of 90 degree pipe to get from the intercooler to the throttle body) but i havn't a clue what all i need to take off of the doner and what i need to mod on mine.....another thing i wanted to know was some of the advantages and the disadvantages in doing this conversion.......mainly i just like the look of it better, it makes for less piping on my setup, and maybe an easier location for a map sensor for a mega squirt setup.....but any input would be greatly appreciated.....
  5. hey hey, noyiced the white suby in your dp, got any other pics?

    cheers mate!!!

  6. well im not trying to do different gauges im using the stock gauges and just giving them a face lift.......i don't really like the look to much of all the autometer gauges all crammed together like that, plus i was thinking of having it done for around 30 bux at most....\
  7. i was thinking of making some custom guages for my 88 turbo wagon, not the gl-10 or the digi dash....i am kinda sick of looking at the same tired gauges and am thinking of doing a black out gauge......it would basically be black when the car is off and then it would have the lights come on when the car is turned on....but i would probibly have it backlit with blue or amber led's.....either that or maybe making a carbon fiber face gauge with like amber color numbers that would show amber when backlit but don't know how this would look....if anyone has any ideas or input or perhaps would like to have one made once i have made a prototype just let me know .....
  8. i have been running 91 in my 88 turbo wagon with a wrx top mount, but i have detonation problems once i get into higher revs in 3rd-5th gear.....its not just knocks its full on to where my car just nose dives for a sec and then starts to drive normal again.....for some reason my manual says 90 octane or higher but iono....i think that my detonation problem could be in part to the fact i redid my head set but had the typical cracks across the valves on both of my heads, i think that this is my hot spot and is the main cause for the detonation problems......
  9. upon reading about 40 or 50 threads i have decided to try a setup consisting of an 88 xt 2wd front strut, tein springs for a 99 up legacy, the rear shock from same year legacy with shims and a top hat from a 93 legacy for the front so that it will fit the larger spring diameter...if anyone has tried this setup or something similar let me know if it even possible.....don't want to waste my time
  10. i was thinkin of doing a 2 door conversion on my 88 gl turbo wagon so that i can do a body kit conversion with 16 inch deep wheels......i wanted to go with an 86 corolla body kit with flaired fenders and run it rear wheel.....but i want to know what i would need other than a welder, a drill and grinder, a gl 2dr front door set, the rear quarter panel on the 2dr and a custom window.....i also would like to know how hard this would be and if anyone else thinks would look good or at least halfway decent but let me know whatever input you have......thnx.....joe
  11. now its not the fact that she is trippin on my hobby, its just that we spent 9000 on my ducati and now over 2000 on my subie. she remembers my spfi 88 i had before and just doesn't want me to get rid of this one after so much time and money.....my last one i have over 1900 worth of things done to it a month before the block blew on me. but i have decided to keep it as long as i can get the damn thing to quit knocking so bad.....so thnx for the input
  12. i lifted m,ine to fix it also to scare the *************** out of my gf.....in that i achieved my goals, plus my mount bolts are a lil round right now so
  13. i got kinda urked the other day when i when to every single stereo shop in fresno and could not get a stereo adapter for my 88 wagon.....i remember how i hated my old one cuz the cd's would pop out into the shifter so i decided to make my own.....check it out...... this is a pick of the backside, shows the frame made of wire coat hangers cut to fit and soldered together, then covered with a wire mesh and fiberglassed to the stock frame, which was cut to make room for the deck to be at an angle. another view of the glassed frame another layer of fiberglass and a side view to get an idea of how it will angle the deck now a layer or two of bondo side view again and what it looks like after a couple shots of primer and some sanding another angle, all in all i think it came out really good considering it was a first try for anything of this type before, maybe a custom kick panel or a door panel is next, but still itchy from the glass so maybe not, but thanx for lookin
  14. ok ok.......now i have had my second ea82t wagon for about 3 months.....it has cost me over 800 in just parts......now should i......: 1. keep it and swap with a ej20tt for 1299$ 2. sell it for like 1800 and take my losses 3. or keep it and drive it like it is..... i am posting this because my girlfriend doesn't understand how subaru's grow on us sooooooo much and she wants me to decide what i am going to do with it.....i would still love to do the swap, fender flares, drop, body kit, 5-lug, and all kinda stuff but i need a few ppl to help me decide......
  15. i simply bought the highest lift jack i could find (23" for 59$ at sears) and flipped the manifold upside down, but i also cut some of the heat shielding off and i had to get the front wheels about 8 inches off of the ground to have enough clearence to get it in, or flip it i should say.........i broke my stock pipe off where it mounts onto the turbo.....i have had to do this 3 times (once when it broke, twice when the first weld broke, and third time when i brain farted when doin the head gasket)............btw the safest way is to get a couple buddies around and tell them to take time out of their busy beer drinkin schedule and put jack-stands underneath so your head doesn't get smashed if the jack slips......but yeah.....good luck
