it doesnt have jump seats. im not sure how much to offer the guy if all i can find wrong with it is the tranny. is there a d/r in it, or just a 4wd h? -
im thinking about going to look at an 83 brat today. The kid says it DID run recently, but the tranny was grinding. now all of a suddent it doesnt run anymore. Assuming a can figure out why its not running, how hard is it to aquire a tranny for the truck, and how hard is it to swap it in? Would the tranny from my 81 brat be able to work? Also, which is the DESIREABLE brat model in 83? Any thoughts on what i should look for other than the usualy rust, etc? any finally what would you pay for a brat in OK exterior shape needing the new tranny? (i havent seen the inside, so i cant comment on it). Thanks a ton- perhaps i'll have a new brat to show off when i get home!! Here are some pictures from the ad....i'll take more when i go... Anyone know how much the tranny would cost and if they are easily attainable?

RdNkBrt replied to RdNkBrt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thats perfect actually. there's a yard with a bunch of wagons, but none the same year as mine, i just wondered how new they could be to get parts like the air vents and seat belts and such. thanks alot for the replys -
Removing Door Ding Strips

if you cant weld it, you could always creat a dent and then use a patch kit over the dent and then bondo over that. that way the bondo is not exposed on the other side. -

"Desert Fox" Edition Hatch Decals???
RdNkBrt replied to 75subie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i would think once the pattern is on the computer or whatver that it would be pretty basic to change the colors or the little decal thing to turn it into "(insert your edition name here) EDITION" decals. even if just the color change part is true, i'd be interested in a set. -
Another pricing/value question
RdNkBrt replied to RdNkBrt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah, that was my plan to off it to someone who is not a soob person -
Ok, so any and all imput on this on is welcome...... That said, I'm trying to find out what everyone thinks is a good selling price for my wagon should i decide to sell her to aquire a Brat or hatch.... Here's some details, along with a few pics which you guys have probably already seen. 80 wagon, clean title with 100k original miles. The body is in great shape, except a few tiny chips (maybe 3 or 4) and a dent on the fender. The tires are in good shape, though i'l probably upgrade them to 14's with some bigger tires before i sell it. The interior is good. The carpet in the back has been taken out and i replaced it with a do it yourself bedliner. (it looks good and it's pretty good quality). The dash is cracked as usual, but its got a dash mat. The front seats have the usual wear and tear, but the rear ones are perfect. They are the blue plaid. um... its got a push bar and a standard roof rack and a skid plate....as for the engine and all, it runs well. It overheated once, but never since then (i was goign up a REALLY long hill in 1st and going a little fast for the gear.) it has a sticky rear rotar which makes a noise the first time you apply the breaks after you start it, but then doesnt make noise again. i think thats it.. here's a couple of pics, let me know what you think its worth. Especially West coasters....thanks alot!! p.s., the car isnt rusty at all, just dirty.. the paint is pretty good, though the pics make it look bad

Brat jumpseats legal in VA? also duals?
RdNkBrt replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
In Hawaii you can cram people in the bed of a truck regardless of seatbelts! Anyways, i thought they WERE importated as trucks and that's why the driver door didnt have to have the steel bar reenforcement in it the way that the cars did? -
i have on '06 2.5i. basicallyi just want to make it faster and ad some of the other components as well. It LAGS big time. I'm thinking of doing a break system overhaul too. as far as looks go, pretty much im going to get a scoop for it and thats about it. MAYBE a wing, but probably not. it depends what they have wrecked down at the Subaru Junk Yard.

i have the doors and rear window you need and im most likely going to be in Mt Hood in 2 weeks.

that looks FREAKING AWESOME!!! You've inspired me....All of the cars i'll ever own from this point out will thank you!

ok, when i was looking into buying a wagon i was going to get a WRX because i couldnt afford teh STI. The manager at the dealership suggested i could but the 2.5 model and basically turn it into an STI for less than the price of the upgrade to the WRX. he said this couldnt be dont with the WRX because it's the 2.0 liter. he said because i didnt care AT ALL about the interior stuff the rest of the stuff wouldnt be THAT much to convert. anyone know what all needs to be converted/how much that might cost? I would appreciate any input! Thanks:banana:
