  1. I completely agree with Bushwick. Rust and the body work alone would make me worry, plus you can see some things rusting in the engine compartment. With all the visual issues I would be pretty surprised if the engine/suspension modifications are done right/well. For an '01 with 170k miles, in good condition I would pay 3,500 tops. For that one, I would offer . . 2,000. .maybe.
  2. WOOT! great news man my wife actually found her own car after it was stolen, we called the cops, they told us to 'look around and in the car for anything suspicious" and then to drive it home. . this was in Lynnwood.
  3. ya, i can definitely see that. all you need is a bolt cutter to snip the steering wheel. I think it's main advantage is making your car just that much harder to steal than the next one down the street.
  4. There has been an alarming amout of subarus stolen recently in north seattle, I bought my wife and I Clubs, not that they are very effective if someone really want your car but it is a visual deterent. I think i'd go for some trip-rigged cs gas canisters, a little more stealth.
  5. I live in ballard, I'll keep an eye out for it. sorry and good luck -Chris

    carnage pics

Not sure, but they look like BFG All Terrains
  7. Glad they found it! A little worse for wear but at least he got it back. It looks like pick n pull in lynnwood has a few legacy's there http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx?Address=98107&Lat=47.668360&Lng=-122.376958&Make=Subaru&Model=Legacy&Distance=100
  8. that is a sweet deal! I recently got a 96 OBS in the same color. Been looking for forester suspension myself. and congrats on the new car, I've only had mine for a couple months but am totally loving it.
  9. Awesome, thanks for your input John. Also good news for me as there seems to be more outbacks in the junkyards than foresters.
  10. Thanks for the pics Bratman, but now I have confused myself.. I had thought I read that forester struts had more room under the lower spring perch, but this look like that is not right. Mabye I need to get outback struts for my 96 OBS instead of forester.. Anyone else have input on which struts (outback or forester) have more room beneath the lower spring perch?
  11. Welcome to the party Dan. I concur with what grossgary says, It should be pretty straight forward. If you have any self-service junkyards in your area I would recommend getting your struts there as you will gain experience pulling them off the donor car before digging into your own car. If you have more questions about it post em up in the 1990's-Present area, probable get more action there. Cheers
  12. damn, sorry dude. I live in ballard and will keep an eye out for it.
  13. Wow, amazing find JustGo. I've been over snoqualmie and stevens pass many times in my old 84GL, it's slow going but I've never had any real problems. I just had to sell mine, but it was the best car I have ever owned, slow but very capable. Can I have more info on the documentary? Is the GL going to be the star car in the movie?
  14. I second this question! I just picked up a 96 impreza outback sport that has a leaky power steering pump..
