  1. Hi All, I have a 1985 RX which has the 2pc rear drive shaft that I need to replace the U-Joints and the Carrier Bearing, but of course I can't find a listing for those parts at my local parts store (they only lists a 1pc shaft). Does anyone know if the U-Joints for the 1pc shaft will work in the 2pc shaft, and does anyone know where I can get the Carrier Bearing (as they don't even show a listing for that). Is there a good online source for parts that will have oddball stuff for my RX?? As always, thanks for your wisdom and guidance in all things Subie!!
  2. Hello Everyone, I am looking for some help. I am trying to bring a 1985 RX back from the dead and it needs R & L front CV Driveshafts, but of course, none of the parts stores even list an RX. Does anyone know what will interchange? It is the 1.8Turbo with the Hi-Lo 4WD. I thought maybe a Brat might have the same shafts (but of course they don't list any shafts for the Brat)?? We tried winging it and getting shafts for a 4WD XT, but they are different. HELP!!!
  3. It is my understanding that 1985 was the first year for the RX and that they only made 1500. So whether there were 2500 or 1500, they are very thin on the ground. I have never seen another one, but I am definitely keeping my eyes peeled now. I am excited to start restoring it! The car is pretty much a basket case, but I have towed home worse Thanks to all for the info. I will keep you posted.
  4. Hello Everyone, I recently purchased a 1985 Subaru GL (or what I thought was a GL), but it turns out that it is really an RX. I am having a LOT of trouble tracking down information on this option. Does anyone have a good source for RX info, parts, accessories, decals, etc..? Please Pleae Please someone tell me that they know of somewhere that reproduces the checkerboard interior, lol (am I asking for too much?). Any information or sources would be appreciated. I am so excited about this project!! Thanks, Becky
