  1. SW corner of MO, about 1 hour from the OK/KS state line...
  2. Cheers!! I've got access to an old GL wagon that we're going to cut up and crush. I've already cut the rear fenders off it to salvage some good metal from. The roof will probably make it's way into the BRAT as rockers too ;-) Project's on hold till Saturday, will plan on spending most of the day out in the unheated garage doing clean up so I can get a good handle on just how bad things are under there.
  3. Yup yup... the passenger side subframe right under the floor is pretty well shot so I've got a fair amount of reinforcing and fabrication to do in the near future... a LOT more than I'm capable of on my own but I'll muddle through. Was planning on shovelling an EJ22 into this thing but I think that's a little ways off yet, don't think she'd hold up too well in her current state. Very interested in what you did on your rockers there, if you've got pics or any tips please let 'em fly. I've got access to press brakes and shears through a guy at church...
  4. This spot is a through hole now... in the space of 3 weeks!!
  5. Yeah, I don't really like the ventilated floor look in the winter time... yes... yes it was... way before I got ahold of it though.
  6. It's been a hellacious past month, lost my job on Dec 1st and have been scraping to make ends meet. Finally got some time to take the carpet out of the BRAT so I can assess the damage to the floor thanks to 26 years of midwest winters. Found out why I'm hearing road noises from the passenger side floor area
  7. I've been offline for a while but here's what I've been able to dig up. The part that you got from Trussells will, according to the Rockford catalog allow you to adapt the EA81 axle onto an EA82T DOJ. There was mention of different diameter axle shafts for the FWD vs the 4x4 axles, I've not been able to get to the bottom of that one. Rockford does have that part on their files but have never made that particular part and, have told me that they don't plan on making it any time in the foreseeable future.
  8. Replace the CTS and MAF, $300 is hard to pass up cos you could part it out for that...
  9. I'd be down as long as price is reasonable I call the 24th of Oct for my Brat
  10. BH... you see this one in KC?? http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/923580557.html
  11. Yeah, you can turn the pressure on the guns up a ways... Also if you stick the balls in the freezer before hand they'll blow through a window... Not that you'd want to do that on a paintball field though... muchos ouchies!
  12. Hatches, and Brats will fit easier than Wagons If you're able to fit 20 into your driveway then that'd be about equal to 65 Brat go-karts!
  13. EA81 = 73 hp EJ18 = 110 hp EJ22 = 135 hp Those are factory numbers... EJ 18 would definately be an improvement in HP over stock. I know S'Ko is running an EJ18 in his Brat.
  14. could have shorted internally... or the VR is shot. Check your voltage at the battery with the engine running. Rev the engine up and see if the voltage goes over 14.7 (nominal VR setting) if it keeps rising then your problem is there. If it doesn't go up from a baseline of approx 12v then your alt isn't putting out.
  15. Failing lead from the coil to the disty, water under the disty cap, or the rotor button worn/fallen off.
  16. Problem that I have on mine is that the 26yo factory rubberized undercoating gets cracked, traps dirt & water and then the floor rots... :-( POR15 is probably a good way to go... I know I've got a LOT of R&R to do to mine pretty soon... Might gut the interior this weekend and try to get my hands on some 20 gauge sheet metal to start welding in patch panels.
  17. Good question! Mine's never been done (and it shows!!) but I've seen it mentioned using linseed oil, used motor oil, and some other stuff...
  18. FWIW The quad cam (DOHC) EJ25 was non interference up till 1997... Find one out of a 96 Legacy and you've got all the fun of an EJ25 without the headaches of T-belt concerns
  19. http://www.ccrengines.com/mwe/ yes. Don't HAVE to but it is worth inspecting the other one to see how it looks. May be worth considering it if you can afford it
  20. SJR is on this forum, he's awesome to deal with. Goes by "Scott in Bellingham" That's a pristine Brat you've got there! Keep the underside oiled and sealed to prevent rusting. I'm jealous!!
  21. Figure on about 3 hours to do the swap if you're gung-ho... Watch out that you don't cross thread the connections from the pump to the rack. Also be prepped with exhaust mani gaskets, unplug the O2 sensor, and you'll need to drop the front sway bar. If you DO cross thread that connection then plan on about a 7 hour job with sufficient usage of four letter words and an occasional prayer. Don't ask how I know!!
  22. NICE!! I'm keen to head out there with you if you go next year... Maybe enter the Brat in open class :brow:
