  1. Hi guys and gals, I have a 1994 Loyale with 175k on the ticker and just replaced my clutch. In first and second gears the car seems to be holding back or feels as if something is binding up, it will go just not as smooth as it was before the new clutch. Going fast enough for third gear and over everything feels great. The clutch cable is new and I have adjusted and readjusted to see if that would remedy the problem, no change. I remember reading something about aligning the clutch perfectly or something will happen or could it be the hill holder is not adjusted correctly and after the speed gets up there I just don't fell it anymore? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Jason
  2. I sold some wheels on Craigslists the other day and the kid who bought them had a Loyale with something like 54,000 original miles on it. I could not beleive it. The interior looked brand new like it had just rolled off the showroom floor. He said he paid $3700 for it this past summer. Mine has 173,000 miles on it and I think I would pay that much to get one in that type of condition. What do you all think? Could you find a Legacy wagon for that price with that low miles?
  3. Shawn W, Thanks for the info, its nice to know that technicians are on here too. I cannot imagine driving 15k miles with the CEL on, no pride in ownership. MissRis, I have the DGM also with black interior and oops "illegal" tinted windows. I threw some new wheels and tires on there too, it looks pretty good.
  4. "someone spilled something sticky (soda) on the connectors for the fuel level sendor and fuel pump... " Weird, the car has like 1200 miles on it. Where are the connectors for the fuel level sender and fuel pump? We had the windows tinted that is the only thing I can think of. I'll know more in Thursday and we are getting a loaner car
  5. 2008 Impreza driving the other day and the fuel gauge went to E, check engine light came on cruise light is flashing. I ran the Schucks scanner on it and it says fuel level sender. Makes sense. Will they have to pull the tank on this or just replace a sensor outside. I'm trying to decide whether or no to get a loaner car or not. Thanks
  6. I recently bought these for my wifes 2008 Impreza. They are a littel louder than the stock tires but handle great. I think they are 215/50/17. They are pretty nice.
  7. Does your car do this when cold or always?
  8. Last year I bought a 1994 loyale with 168k on it it was the cleanest old Soob I have ever seen. I paid $1700 for it and have since put another about $500 in it with new timing belts, oil pump, water pump, acc belts and tires, $2500 may be a little high. As with anything it is worth what people are paying not what a bluebook or NADA says. I am happy with what I paid for mine. You hear all of these stories about a $250 car but if you are happy paying that amount than who cares what anyone else says. Jason
  9. So I was installing some WRX seats in my 94 Loyale and had the doors open for a while. After the installation was complete I had to leave and my auto belts were not working but I kept hearing what sounded like a motor or relay cycling off and on every 10 seconds or so. I disconnected the battery and took the passenger side panel off where the auto belt motor is and beside it is a black relay that reads R2011 TD165 12V It was clicking and nothing was happening. Dome light still works, car starts up fine. Anyone know what this is or should I just bring it in to autozone and see if they can match it? I have searched for this and found nothing related to the relay for seatbelts. It may not even be a relay for those but it has something to do with them not working I think. Oh yeah I checked the fuseable links in the engine compartment and all fuses related to this problem in dash and all is fine. Thanks Jason
  10. Thanks for all the great replies. i think I will try one of the locally owned shops around here. There are two or three that I have heard good things about.
  11. I just bought my wife an 08 impreza and wanted to bling it out for her so I got her some ADR sokudo 10's on Dunlop sp sports. Got the wheels off ebay and tires of tirerack so I took it to a local shop called Perfection tires here in Coeur D Alene. The tires shake the steering wheel like crazy over 40 mph. I know, take it back and have them fix it. I will but it will be the last time I go in there, and they used hammer on weights, I thought custom wheels used stick on weights? I'm tired of having to take things back 2 and 3 times to tire places. I used to go to Les Scwab but the smart ace punks that work in there think they know more than everybody else and usually end up breaking a lug or cross threading a nut every time I go in there. I've tried Sears Tire center they have 16 yr old children working in there that can't change a bike tire. There are a few small shops but I doubt they have the high dollar balance machines or experience with nice wheels. Is it that hard to balance a tire? Where does everyone else go for tire balancing and tire related issues? Later Jason
  12. Hello, I did not search for this as I have never heard of it before. I was in the process of trying out some Amsoil engine flush. So before anything had been added or replaced I opened the oil filler cap to vent oil. I saw a creamy white looking goop on the under side of the filler cap. It looks exactly like cold bacon grease:headbang: . My car is a 1994 Loyale with 171,000 miles. I have only owned it for about 6 months. It does not use any coolant nor does anything leak on the ground at home or work. What could this mystery substance be? The only thing I can think of is I do not drive far enought to work to warm up oil and there is extreme amounts of condensation in crankcase, my drive to work is about 2 miles or 5 minutes. I let car warn up about 5 minutes or so. Any ideas? Thanks Jason
  13. Kumho Solus KR 21 http://www.kumhousa.com/tires/passenger/premium-touring/KR21.do I just bought a set and was wondering if anyone else has had experience with them? Sears does a price match so I took in a tirerack printout and they were $268 with mount balance tax etc. for 185/70/13. Thanks Jason
  14. It's funny how these old cars make you want to take care of them. I sold my sick azz 2006 Dodge Ram seen here http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t153/jascodiesel/IMG_1336.jpg to get ready for my first daughter to be born. I have not had this much fun working on a vehicle since I was 16. My Loyale had a coolant leak and miraculously "healed" it self for now. Good luck with the leaks.
  15. The Chiltons I have says 1985 to 1996 coupes/sedans/wagons. I bought a FSM on cd off of ebay the other day for $.99. That writeup for the timing belt will be very helpful, pics and all, it's nice to have pics. Thanks for the link
