  1. I was not doing a complete overhaul on ALL the vacuum hoses I just bought about 4 feet of 5/32" size hoses. More than enough for the egr solenoid I was tampering with. A good Idea is to keep some spare feet of it of variously used sizes just for "in-case". I paid about 5 dollars for 4 feet. something like that
  2. Note to self.......replace vacuum lines. If a vacuum line gets old, hard, and unflexible, lets just replace it. I know it's frustrating sometimes to stop what your doing and make a seperate trip to the vacuum line store but, it is so much easier working with new lines than old ones. This lesson was refreshed for me last night as I struggled for 40 minutes in the cold trying to make old hard hoses fit. a quick trip and 5 dollars later, parts slid on like warm butter.
  3. yep nice and clean, take care of it and it'll take care of you
  4. Hey guys, will you give me estimates on what your rpms tack at say 65mph, and what tranny/ size tires you have. currently I have an auto with 3.70 and it tacks about 3600 rpms at 65. What does your 5speed d/r tack at 65mph?
  5. FYI this place will do a parts included auto to 5speed d/r swap for about $1000. good to know
  6. Terrific! I am in love........I found the phone number guys ( couldn't read it on the photo so I looked it up. 1-865-463-8157
  7. ok rust is the usual cosmetic sooby spots. rear fender wells have nice sized holes, the rocker panels are gone. decent amount of surface rust inside door wells (buffable) one spot on the frame has the beginnings of a rust hole where the mustache bar connects across the rear left frame rail. that is everything.
  8. I live in Virginia, and I have access to another beautiful old soobie with rust issues, nothing serious serious yet a few holes etc.....but I am wondering if anyone local is badass with rust repairs? estimates would be nice
  9. Ok I am a native east coaster. I am considering moving out west......and I do love subaru's.........I am interested in learning which location is the subaru mecca? I adore working on them and I would enjoy being close to parts and fellow people that drive them. particularly the ea81's 4x4's......thanks! any advice would be nice.........I work in forensics/science labs so an area of gainful employment in that sector would be necessary too!
  10. There Is A Way Brother........sure It May Take A Drive, Or Shipment Of A Part, But, No Biggie. Don't Give Up!
  11. well I happen to like the white wagons too, but I probably won't lift it, lights maybe, lift not my style......I appreciate and enjoy the stock ride height thanks for the compliments tho! Peace gang.........also if anyone wants to make some money, I am in the market for two auto to 5 speed swaps..........so I am willing to pay someone for all the parts they can salvage/find......let me know peoples one is ea82 the other is ea81....I hear talk of a guy named jerry that can make a kit for the ea81 5 spd d/r.......I a may need this fella.
  12. that is a spitting image of what my brat used to look like........except minus the TSL swampers. Pimp ride!
  13. cool dude, I'm sure it will be laborious but brats are pimp rides!
  14. heck yeah boss.......I searched a little and found some, let me know if you can't find some after you try searching for a while.
