  1. Yeah, there's definitely a place for speakers in the rear door, just no hole cut out of the panelling. As for the trunk door, there doesn't seem to be wiring for the speakers, but there are two sets of grids on the plastic panelling behind which the insulation material is ready to be cut out. It just looks like it's meant for speakers. Thanks for the info though.
  2. I just acquired my 6th Subaru Loyale Stationwagon and, not surprisingly, the speakers are shot...really shot. So, I finally decided to replace the speakers in a car I owned. In the process of looking into this, I discovered there actually were spots for speakers in the rear doors. Behind the panelling, there is some hard cardboard like material with circular cutouts for the speakers and then of course the place to mount the speakers. My first question is this, will the sound come through ok through the panelling once I cut out the circular cutouts because there will still be some material between the speakers and the rest of the car...there's no slits to let out the sound. My second question is regarding the trunk. I noticed in the trunk two grids/sets of slit and it appears that speaks would be able to go behind them. However, I know nothing at all about car sound systems and have been unable to find anything online about it. Does anyone know whether I can install speakers in the trunk and if so, do you know what dimensions they have to be? Thanks!
  3. I have a "new" Subarau Loyale stationwagon, and the headlights won't turn off while the car is on. In the off position, the headlights are on, but the inside gauges are not lit up. In the dim position, the headlights are off, but the low level dim lights are on and the gauges are lit up. In the on position, the headlights are on like in the off position and the gauges are lit up. The high beams also work. The only problem is that I cannot get my headlights to turn off while the car is on. If this were a new car, I'd figure it was supposed to do that, but it's a a trusty Loyale and I suspect this should not be happening. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks.
  4. The 4WD button is clicking, but doing nothing. It stays pressed in until I press it again. As for the defrosters, I believe they work fine. When I turn on the defrosters, a little air may come out of the dash vents, but the defrosters work. Thanks.
  5. I recently purchased a 1991 Subaru Loyale Manual Stationwagon. At the time of purchase, pressing the 4WD button on the stick turned on the 4WD. When I tried to turn on the four wheel drive again, after driving it back to my house about an hour and a half away, it did not work. I've tried it repeatedly but it will not work. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Thank you.
