  3. Has anyone out there heard of z-max ? It's an oil/fuel/trans/power steering additive.I work with a guy that says he increased his gas mileage from 36 to 42 mpg on a Honda Civic.I find that hard to believe. With gas here @ $3.69 a gallon,I'll try any thing at this point.
  4. Thanks a lot,I am about to do the same for my -02 forester. This info was great and I'm sure it will help me a lot.
  5. I'm driving 02 Forester 2.5 L .I have done just about everything you can imagine to try to get better gas mileage.24.6 average ,that's 8 mi on surface streets and 11 mi on the highway.Going back and forth to work everyday. That's easy driving no hot rodding.
  6. 02 Forester 85 K, rear drums and still passes inspection in Pa.Go figure !
  7. I found a set of drilled rotors on line at a good price. Installed them about 6 months ago and have had no problems with them. It is a basic brake change and you should have no problem with this job..
  8. I do not think of my beloved 02 Forester as a "brick on wheels" . If any thing it would be " omni stone on wheels" ( a fancy name for a brick) HA HA
  9. Thanks for the info on scangauge looks, pretty interesting....never heard of it before. Will check it out for sure
  10. My 02 Forester gets 24.6 on average , that is combined highway and surface roads.I drive the speed limit,no fast starts, Mobile 1 oil, synthetic gear lube all around, K&N air filter,35 lbs in the tires.I think that is what it is going to be...I'll never see 30 mpg, although that was mt goal...
  11. I am looking for info on getting better gas milage on my 02 Forester, 85K miles on the OD.I have done all I could to increase gas mileage, Platinum plugs NGK, Mobile 1 oil, synthetic gear oil in diff and rear, tire air pressure 35lbs, K&N air filter. Carefull driving habits no jackrabbit starts etc. My best mileage is 24.6 average (8 miles on surface roads and 11 miles on the highway) back and forth to work daily.Any hints out there ?? I found a company on the internet that sells a chip that goes into the IAT module.I purchaced the chip which was actually a 35K ohm resister. I sent it back and did not try it. I was afraid it might of mess something up. Can anyone help me with this or am I doing all I can ? Thanks jerryjetman
