Hey,
I have an '86 GL-10, and would like to swap the driveline from an automatic '92 legacy turbo that would be imported from japan. I would like to use as much of the donor car as possible. As far as my reading has shown me, the front end will be pretty straight forward. The wiring suberdave tells me, that if it has an OBD1 ecu won't be too hard, and that the only custom work so far would be shortening the driveshaft a bit. But for the rear suspension.....is there an alternative to the XT6 parts, are the XT6 hubs knockles, and axles able to take the extra hp/torque? I had read somewhere on here that someone was doing a swap using the donor car's rear bits, but I can't seem to find it, or even know if it was abandoned or what it took to accomplish. Could the Crossbred performance 5 lug conversion kit be an option?
Ok well I've taken ehough of your time thank-you for reading this, and if you have any pointers, or tips that'd be great.
And BTW the tranny is/has to be an auto (for now) because in order for this project to get the green light , my wife has to be able to drive it, and she will also be the main driver of this car, because I already have my subie (that she doesn't feel comfortable driving)
