  1. I was lucky to find one with no rust out here. There are VERY few left, and the ones that are left, are rusty. Just got the ej swap done, still doing little details.
  2. I think most people just remove the sway bar when they lift their older Subaru. There isn't a huge difference without it, and it would definitely limit travel off road.
  3. Just snip the bracket and bend it so you can pull the brake line out of it. No need to disconnect the lines, just to have to bleed them. The new struts will actually have cut outs to just install them.
  4. If he isn't making them still, there are others that do.
  5. Yeah that's normal. Clean 'em up and regasket 'em.

  7. Lol. No garage unfortunately. But a big porch full of parts and an entire parts care filled. I have a lot of Subaru parts.
  8. You don't even absolutely need the second bolt for the starter. I've seen this done many times. Sad that a tech at a Subaru dealer couldn't manage to figure this out.
  9. I've never personally had it happen to me, but I scored a 92 fwd loyale sedan for 200 bucks because it happened to the previous owner. I swapped on a couple new parts and drove it home.
  10. Yeah ok. If it had 10.5" of lift, it wouldn't look like the other 2 lifted obs's with 6" of lift on here. Genius. As JesZek said, that's not really how this forum works. Don't be an rump roast.
  11. Just curious, what does the 10.5" of lift consist of? Or is it just 10.5" of clearance?
  12. Yeah that's be fine. Or if you use a 16" wheel, you can run a 215 60 16.
  13. 98-08 forester, or 96-99 outback. The 98-02 forester struts have a lower rear spring perch so you can fit over a 27ish inch tire without wheel spacers.
  14. When a ball joint gets old, the joint itself loosens up. And if it's bad enough, the joint can pop out of its socket. Or its possible the nut loosened up and popped out of the control arm too.
  15. No. You'd have to remove material from the engine or transmission for that to work.
  16. So this is finally resolved. It was something stupid of course, but something that wasn't thought to check. I planned on swapping the engine because that was the only thing I hadn't swapped out. I removed the exhaust and decided to try it just for the hell of it. It fired up and revved right to 6500rpms. So I immediately knew it was something with the exhaust. I removed the muffler and tried it, it still did it. I then removed the flex pipe, and it still did it, then I removed the small pipe off the header. That's where I found a small metal object, that looks like the cap to a metal chain link fence wedged in the pipe against the o2 sensor. I don't know where it came from, how it got there, or why it was in there. I do know it wasn't there when I assembled and installed the exhaust, or at least not in view. So it's aggravating that it's taken 2 years to find this, and to not know where this piece came from, but I'm excited to finally be able to finish this piece of the project and drive it!
  17. I want a white rx grille for mine. I had someone who sent me a pm and told me they had one and I never heard back.
  18. They are close, but I know they use different bearing seals because one has a bigger opening on the back side. And i think where the caliper bracket bolts on is different as well.
