  1. I just passed my Vehicle Warrant of Fitness (I live in New Zealand) I was told that both the rear outer CV Boots were split. Is this a serious issue? And how simple to fix as a do it yourself? Its 1994 EJ18 GC6 Impreza Cheers
  2. I've replaced the connector, 12v. Fixed that problem then. BUT not getting fuel still so it has to be the fuel pump, can't be the relay if there was 12v everywhere along the connections. Could it still possibly be the ECU? how do I test the grounding?
  3. Went and got a spare fuel pump housing, swapped over the gas tank gauge meter thing. Before putting my fuel pump on, checked for power and there was 12v! So with my hopes up, put the fuel pump on, put the assembly back in the tank, tried starting my car but still not starting. To me this must mean that the fuel pump is bad?
  4. Yes 12v at the tank connector plug. But only 9v on the other side of the plug closest to the pump itself. And 0v at the pump itself.
  5. The wires and connections are all ok. It's weird because it can only be the ECU now really. Or the fuel pump itself but I doubt it. Have checked the wiring and have swapped the fuel relay with a relay that was next to it on the same bracket. How do I run power straight to the fuel pump so it's running all the time? I know it's dangerous to drive around on. BUT this would tell me if I need a new fuel pump or not, am I right? Something about bypassing the relay or something?
  6. At the pump this is no power or 0.01v At the pump side of the connector plug there is 9v with the red on the plug and black on the chassis. AND 12v when red and black on the plug. Other side of the connector plug is 12v for both.
  7. I swapped the fuel pump relay with the relay from a white plug next to it. Still not starting. Checked for power at the fuel relay plug, 12v.
  8. Hi, I have a non turbo 1994 ej18 impreza. I was calling around to get a price on a fuel pump for my car when a guy told me that I can use a turbo fuel pump on my car because it fits. Is this correct and what are the pros and cons if there are any? Thanks
  9. In my thread here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=100194 I think I had 12v at the connector plug but no power from the pump side of the connector to the pump itself. Im not too sure what I'm checking. Could you please explain how I check the ground continuity? Thanks
  10. thanks Cougar, I really appreciate all the help! Checked for power on SBF-2, around 2.7v on and off key position. Checked for power at the green plug relay connector 12.7 off, 12.4v on. And there was around 12v at the pump connector when I last checked it.
  11. 1994 ej18 impreza gc6. (right hand drive) Is the green plug quite small? I see two green plugs unplugged next to each other. Also with the fuel gauge, when the car is turned off should the needle go right back down to empty? Or does it stay on how much fuel you have even when off (might have broken the fuel floater sensor thing)
  12. I had tried replacing the crank sensor a while ago. There is spark. Is definitely fuel problem as have tried using stater fluid. sorry I don't understand what you mean by "two green test connectors"
  13. Hi, Is there any simple way of checking if the ECU is bad on an EJ18 Impreza 1994? Fuel pump is not getting power, so it is either the ecu or fuel relay. any help appreciated
