  1. Id love to see this engine combined with a turbo or supercharger or BOTH (like VW with their TSI engines: 1.4 170 hp!!!) That wud be awesome!
  2. Subaru already have an STI Legacy in Europe with a 3.0 ltr H6, six speed manual tranny from the impreza STI and very sporty suspension but misserable fuel consumption.
  3. :-\ I've now been to the doctor, nothing major so far, I hit my hand somewhere so its kinda sore and swollen. Im so glad I didn't see it coming cause she hit me unbraked (she said she didn' see me although there was street lighting, car lights, no fog or other traffic!). I'm assuming she was driving the speed limit, so 30 mph. I went to a body shop place which the insurance company recommended, they said its basically scrap (although it still runs great:) ). The metal bumper (under the outer bumper) is very deformed and so is the whole chasis. All the doors don't open/close as before, the boot lid (sedan) is somehow deformed, it opens but not as before, and the metal panels are no longer parallel where they should be. Her insurance better give me fair compensation for the damage to my Legacy (its worth more to me than book price and it was in very good shape and accident free before this), for my injuries and for my time. Good thing I have Legal insurance, they should be able help me on this.
  4. In europe Chevrolet is rebaging ALL Daewoos with Chevrolet! Looks like a step up for daewoo to me!
  5. Yesterday as I was driving home at 10 pm (almost no traffic) I got rear ended by some young female driver! I was standing still at a pedestrian crossing to let people cross the street and as I was about to accelerate she rear ends me HARD. I mean the cupholder was almost completely in the open/out position after!! Anyway I was a bit dazed and had a headache. Im fine now. I got out to look at the damage and call the police. She absolutely didnt want the police involved. Her damage was both headlights broken, radiator fluid all over the road, grill broken, basically the whole front end deformed. My damage (when I looked at it in the dark last night so not conclusive until I reinspect), was my bumper scratched and the finish scraped off, thats it. Now thats what I call good bumpers:banana: . Tomorow Im taking the car to the dealer for inspection to see if anything is out of allignment and to get a quote for the repair. After a 20 min wait, the police finally came, did alcohol tests and filled out the paper work. And guess what, the other driver had to get a blood test done, so was over the limit. Anyway, my question is, do the seat belts need replacing after an accident? What should I look out for, what kind of "invisible damage" could there be? Thanks Drive safely.
  6. I would also stick with OEM rotors (not that expensive if bought at the right place, eg Liberty Subaru ) and I would definately recommend Axxis pads. I've got the Deluxe Plus which are showing practically no wear, the bite is great, and they are quiet but any(Original Deluxe, Deluxe Plus, Metal Master, and Ultimate) Axxis pads are gonna be great. BTW the job is even easier than you would expect!
  7. I stay away when the fuel tanker is there for safety. BTW an empty tanker is more dangerous to suddenly exploding than a full one due to the air fuel mxture being optimal when empty.
  8. Thanks for the reply, I think I'll let the shop do it since I'm taking it in anyway and I can't raise the whole vehicle. Cheers
  9. My brake fluid looks too brown to me to let it stay in there so I need to change it. Problem is that I've never done it before. I did a search in the forum but couldn't find a write up. Anyone know where I could find step by step instructions? Is it necessary to remove the wheels for a brake fluid change? Thanks for the help. PS My car passed emissions test today
  10. Just did an oil change on my Scooby and noticed that the new oil filter is much smaller than the old? Both OEM. New part number is 15208AA080 and the old was 15208AA024. Any info on this, I'm just curious. Are the new ones more efficient than the old ones
  11. I'd get a tranny from a junkyard. I got mine there and its been worth it.
