Difficulty verifying control arm bushing
rpholz replied to mr_ed's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Replaced my ea82 bushing with poly, pretty sure I torched out the old ones -
Yea the pitting I'm not so stoked about, but it'll be fine for much the car will be driven
-
Not to mention I rebuild busted EJs all day at work, the hell would I want that on a personal car too?
-
Yea me either. I'm still gunna slap it together and throw 15lbs at it. Just trying to gauge if this is common or not. As far as opinions of the ea82. I'm good, trust me I know ohmawgawd EJ, yada yada. But that's not what this car is for. Sitting 10ft from the car is an EZ30, ej22, ej255 etc. I choose to keep the EA because when it works consistently, it'll be glorious.

Well thanks for that reply, although that has nothing to do with the block. ........Which I am actually wondering about

ALMOST A YEAR LATER. Let's see: New job Bought a house Built a friends FC Turbo II and dismantled the rx. As it sits it has no harness, the core support is cut out, and the engine is on a stand. However ill be returning work. So far larger radiator, different intercooler, bigger VF52 turbo and a complete rewirering of the car(except my sweet engine harness) Stay tuned, don't stay tuned. Eh

Anyone have some shortblocks laying around? I took apart my turbo motor and noticed some seperation between cylinder wall and deck. So I took apart another one and it had the same seperation, now in wondering if this is normal crap casting or if I'm pushing the motor too hard. Let's see if I can remember how to post images.

alright, codswallop it. im done. this car can sit for a while.
-
Won't do a clean pull, suspecting bad coil but can't find one local
-
took the turbo block, retorqued the heads. got a bit too lazy to take it off the back of the truck lol. it's in, running. dyno it tomorrow. running a fair bit richer currently. and for those wondering if the clutch will hold..... yea i think it will
