This annual group drive includes about 1,000 miles of driving spread over 3 days. We kick it off with Breakfast and a Meet & Greet and door prize raffle with Subaru of America Executives at the Subaru of America, Inc. Headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ. From there we will take a short trip to Make-A-Wish New Jersey who is a chapter for the charity we are supporting this year for a tour of their facilities and possible make a few wishes come true. Then we jump in our Subies and head for the highways and back road as we group drive up into the Adirondack Mountain Resort of Dunham's Bay in Lake George. Saturday we will work our way through the Adirondack Mountains of NY and the Green Mountains of Vermont on our way for a private tour of Vermont SportsCar which is always a fun filled portion of the trip. The schedule has us arriving at the Hotel in Burlington, VT around 6pm on Saturday night and this will allow plenty of time to get a good dinner with new and old friends. Not only is this trip an amazing way to see the scenic winterscapes but it is an opportunity for you to help give back to the community. All registrants are required to sign up through our link to Make-A-Wish America, a charity which makes "wishes" for children with life threatening medical conditions. The donations you make to MAW act as your "entry fee” for the event. They are also tax deductible! There are all different folks who attend the trip, young adults, families, retirees, you name it, if they enjoy Subarus they are there. We caravan in groups of 10-15 cars and communicate from car to car via CB radios. People share stories during the trip and many folks have made lifelong friends through the past events. It is truly an amazing way folks bond together! This year we will be doing lots and lots of miles for charity! Our travels will take from Subaru Headquarters up to the Adirondack Mountains to Vermont Sports Car where they build all the Subaru Rally cars for the US. The trip will encompass both highway and back roads driving and will culminate with the closing dinner in the Hudson Valley! 5. this might explain my odd "surge" of power @ 2500 rpms, it doesn't make any odd noises or anything, just seems like it has no power until 2500rpm and bam powa! i'm going to have to start monitoring my ignition advance more closely thanks
  6. glad i ran across this thread i was seeing the same thing with my 2.2 and long steep uphill interstate runs, i guess i need to switch to an oem t-stat on my hybrid motor when i put it together
  7. I'll got a good one, in my family's down stairs garage my old man used the main beam that runs under the floor to lift and then hold, for a few days, half of an international farm tractor while the transmission was worked on
  8. funny the shipping on my harbor freight order wasnt that bad ~5 biz. days got a 18v cordless impact gun ( change tires @ autocross when i get a set of auto cross wheels ) and an oil pressure gauge <- $20 and it has a remote sending unit
  9. very nice, look into some JDM projector headlights if you do any amount of night driving the difference is jaw dropping ( and some GT snowflakes dress up the wheels quite nicely )
  10. its sad the way Subaru is heading, when i park next to a 08-09 impreza they seem to dwarf my 97 leggy
  11. great job on catching this in time with mine I did the water pump and didn't torque the bolt enough and the woodriff key ground the center of the pulley out but i use it as an excuse to get a lightweight pulley as a replacement
  12. are you getting the 2pot calipers ? i switched to those on my 97 and have enjoyed the slight improvement, as for the whole bigger tire thing, never heard of that before... the overall diameter between the 14 steelies" and the 16" snowflakes is VERY close (with tires) and i ran for a good bit with the stock 1 pot calipers and the GT wheels and never noticed a difference in braking ability, if anything the larger alloy wheels weighed less and had less rotational mass so it should have been better braking with just the wheel change imho correct me if
  13. nice to meet everyone today and thanks for the chicken it was really good
