  1. thanks for the tip lol. so i can bolt up a set of EJ25T heads and intake up to the EJ22T shortblock and everything should line up? if i snagged a wrecked sti could i use the subframe from that to make everything line up? the only thing i've herd about doin' one of those sti guts to gc8 chassis conversions is that 05 is pretty much that last year that everything lines up and no one can give me a direct answer on if the 6 speed rear tranny mount will bolt up in there and be in the right place. thanks again for all of your help, definately appreciated.
  2. hey everybody. i just snagged a 92 EJ22 T block from a legacy with 40,000 on it and i'm planning on putting it into my 98 gc8 l, i've herd that i need the sub frame from the legacy to fit the motor into the car or will it just sit in there, i was wondering if any of yawl had any thoughts on the subject lol. i am also wondering if any one know's where i might find an ecu for that motor as well as a harness for it, in addition to wondering if i'm going to have to re-pin the rest of the cars harness to the ecu, if they make an adapter for it, or if it'll just plug in threre lol. i know i have a lot of work ahead of me but winter is here and i'm ready for a nice little project. thank everyone for all there thoughts and help definately appreciated.

  4. hay yawl, i just got a 98 GC8-L and i am thinking about building a 2.5 to drop in it, i know about the head gasket issues both the DOHC and the SOHC had, and i was wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem, i've herd about using aftermarket gaskets and head bolts and i was just wondering if anyone had any luck. i was planning to port and polish the heads and cam and megasquirt the motor, as well as the usual headers and intake. i was also wondering how beefy the split case 5-speed man-trans' are, and if its something i need to worry about if i'm pushing horsepower through it? any help or guidence as to these issue would be greatly appreciated.
  5. at this point I'm thinking i might just build an engine for this thing from the ground up, and am now currently wondering how easy it is to stick cosworth heads onto a suby block. if any one has any input on building from the ground up i would much appreciate it.

  7. i definitely appreciate the advice guys, i have herd about the 2.5 head gaskets, and have experienced it first had, i had a 98 forester that blew two of them. will the 2.2 give me a noticeable power increase, and the 1.8 intake manifold just bolts right up to the 2.2 heads?
  8. i'm thinking of putting a 2.5 into my 95 impreza, i was wondering if the motor will just bolt up and plug in, or what's involved with that type of project? any help or guidance would be much appreciated. thanks guys
