  1. What O ring? I can't find it on the parts diagram. I'll replace the hose and clamps. I cleaned everything and found new fluid around the suction hose on the reservior, the hose return going into the reservoir, but also some on the back side of the pump.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Forgot to mention the fluid appears to leaking around the reservoir, that's where I'm finding fluid. No where around the pump. Also, if there was just a leak around the reservoir, as long as fluid level was maintained, there shouldn't be a squeal upon start up should there? The belt is good and properly tensioned. My thought would be pump failure if the sound was there on cold start up.
  3. 2008 Impreza 2.5, power steering pump has been squealing briefly upon starting, but quickly goes away. Now the fluid level appears to be dropping a little, so assume a leak and the pump is bad. Guessing this is pretty straight forward. Just want to confirm the pump is bad and likely nothing else or anyhting else I should be looking at as well? Just don't want to replace the pump and find out the problem isn't fixed because I neglected to check something else. Thanks.
  4. A short was my first guess, but with it coming out of nowhere with no reason, hoping maybe something else.
  5. 2008 Impreza heat fan, AC, rear defrost another working, no power. Was working fine while driving and then stopped for no reason. Fuse 22 blown for AC, tried another and blew again. No recent electrical installs, no rodents, no accidents. I heard maybe a bad AC relay? All other electrical working fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  6. Yeah, the rubber was chewed down to where the white fabric threads are starting to show. I inagine it's not tremendous pressure, so guessing it probably won't blow or leak.
  7. OK, thanks. And with the hose being chewed to where just the start of the threads showing, do you recommend immediate replacement or can I driver until I can get the hose?
  8. Obviously, a leak and possible fire danger are my greatest concerns. What do you mean if you replace it you can't keep the disconnect? Is it possible to buy the hose with the disconnect on it?
  9. Yep, the one on top. Any tricks to replacing it pretty simple? I would assume similar pressure to the system when replacing the fuel filter?
  10. On my 08 Impreza 2.5 (non-turbo) I had a get under my hood and chew up the spark plug wires and then chew on another hose. The spark plug wires are a relatively easy fix. The hose was only slightly chewed, with just a little of the core fibers showing, but doesn't appear to be leaking at all. But wondering if someone could help me identify the hose so I can replace or if I have immediate concerns. I think it is a pressure regulator with only, but not positive. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated. See attached photos. Thanks.
  11. I don't notice it neutral, but also don't really notice it at low speeds either, only higher speeds when off of the gas
  12. 97 Impreza Outback, 5 speed, a rattling type noise just started, appears to be more back right, but can't be for sure, the noise seems to go away during acceleration or when clutch is in, generally heard while off of gas, is louder at higher speeds, have never heard this before and having a hard time isolating noise, any ideas would be appreciated
  13. I know this has been discussed before, but I have a 97 Impreza with the check engine light on. I keep getting the codes po440 evap malf and p1441 evap vacuum cut valve. I can clear the codes, but they just pop up again later. It hasn't caused me an issues and mechanics haven't been able to solve this. Is this something that is an easy fix or a bigger project I should be worried about?
