  1. Hi folks , It has been a long time since I was on the USMB forum .It is that our cars are running very well. Now ,my buddy's 2000 legacy L needed a rear subframe replaced . It was done, and now he thinks that the rear upper front control arms were accidently switched ... lt for rt and rt for lt .. because of bushing spacer is not where he remembers now . Does some one here have pictures of the rear suspension with the wheel off ? Thank-you , ImprezaII
  2. Hi Folks ! We havebought a new to us , 2004 Legacy Wagon 2.5l with 85,000 KM . Anyway, since we had it , my wife has been complaining that is too cold then, it is too hot , then too cold ...only on the pass. side . We have a blanket in the car. Today I sat on the pass. side..... BRRRRR . Put my hand behind the glove box door . Cold air leaking from some kind of grille with foam under it. Now I called the dealer, and they said no there is "no cabin filter option , at all for this car with the VIN # " . But bring it in and we will look at it But before I go there , I bet some else here at USMB has run across this problem . So what is leaking ? And how to repair it? Thanks for your help :)
  3. We just picked up a Silver 2004 legacy sw 38,457 km canada spec , not sure which model it really is . Plain looking out side ,2.5 auto, with leather wrapped wheel. cheap CD player pw ,pl, ac, 6 way pwr seat , heated seats , double spoke alloy rims. Really clean too. Any ideas? .We are going to install a factory subaru 6 cd radio when possible .
  4. Looking for another Subaru for a while , came across this 2003 Outback H6 VDC. High mileage 234000 KMS. Not smoked in , green in colour. Anything we should look out for? Thanks, Casey
  5. I , too have a 96 Impreza 2.2 , auto, was yours auto ? Anyway I have NGK plugs and Bosch Red Ignition wire set , the Red Wires are the higher quality wire set = better spark distribution. Maybe run a cleaner through fuel injection system, before you change the plugs.. We find that the Impreza is a great little car.
  6. Check first at the washer motor connection , possible corrosion at the plug in point . Good luck.
  7. Vibration is ........................... gone.... We loosened engine , trans mounts , pry barred the engine assembly , wiggled , and shook it , tightened it and now , it seems to have gone a away . Finally . Thanks , Nipper , and for everyones ideas and help . This Forum has good ideas and reseach materials .
  8. I am hoping it is just these mounts . If it isn't , not sure what to do next .
  9. I wonder if with the first snow storm , if accelerating really hard moved something or put something out of alignment ? Has anyone ever had issues with their engine or transmission mounts ? thanks
  10. Yes , they have broken belts. the tires and rims were given to me by my brother from his mother in laws Dodge Shadow . Don't think her car ever met a pothole or curb it didn't like .
  11. Nipper , thanks for you help . Tried that , went front to back , left to right . The Goodyear snows are unidrectional so we demounted them and flipped them around . Vibration still there . One rim was slightly out of round , replaced with new " tested true " one , just in case . We really like the car . Keep suggesting . Very
  12. That was a good idea , had checked that also at the dealer . The suspension checked out good , with the exception of one sway link on the rear that is starting to get loose . This vibration that is in the car is starting to get real annoying .
  13. We do not think the rear driveshaft is bad after all ,vibration is there between 25 mph 55 mph . The following is what we done , some at the subaru dealer , and they treated us very fair , and other parts at our local garage . We checked everything , with car on hoist.... - took the drive shaft off on the rear . - pulled all the wheels off . roadforce balance each tire , meaning as they spin the wheel on the balancer , there is a roller pushing on the tire as the same time it is being balanced... - put fuse in FWD mode . - removed each front CV shaft one at a time . - removed each rear brakedrum one at a time . car off the hoist ..... - checked engine performance re: sensors , timing , air fuel , plugs , wires , fuel filter , etc . - used different brand of fuel, just in case . Noticed something today, when I made a turn rather quickly on the snow covered road , the car went through the turn as if I had a big Chev Caprice. The car drove from the back and did not pull from the front . Is that normal ? Any thoughts ?? thanks.
