  1. no offense to tim, but if he's signed for it and taken possession already, well, then...... it's not really your thing anymore paul, you needed to get rid of it because you don't have a place to put it, and now you've gotten rid of it and still don't have a place to put it.. (edit) doDoDoDOoooDODDoooooDODododoDODododododooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOO
  2. SWWWWEEEEEEEEEEETTTT!!!! (shoulda painted it first though )
  3. I've got a saab that I got for free off of a friend, that's sitting in my driveway... early 900 S (1991 I think!?!) anyway, the car will start and run fine, but it overheats and doesn't charge the battery. there is a belt coming from the crank that turns the alternator and water pump, and then another belt that turns the rest of the stuff.. long story short, it will be a long time before I get around to figuring out what the problem is because the water pump and alternator are both buried below tons of other crap (ac condenser etc) at the rear of the engine compartment!!! give me a subaru with a problem for free, and I'll do my best to fix it.. give me a saab with a problem for free, and it'll sit in the driveway until I have a week off from everything to screw with it
  4. that is EXACTLY what they're trying to do.... "oh, we don't have parts for that crappy old car you're driving... BUT I've got a great deal on a 2005 blah blah blah blah"
  5. if all the mounting hardware is tightened down enough, and it still rattles, I'd have to say that something is broken! there aren't any broken cross rails or anything that you noticed, are there? wiggle everything on it until you find the loose part. then apply 1/2 - 1 roll of duct tape or your favorite adhesive type product
  6. that sucks. I can't make it. the only tour I got of the 1st church was peeking through the windows to try and figure out why nobody was home we did sit in the driveway for a while and admire melis' 3dr and the wagon wheels that were sitting around though
  7. short answer: NO long answer: still NO they didn't even know what an ej22 was
  8. sorry to hear about your woes... I've got some nasty pics of where I got my dad's jeep stuck in 1.5' soupy mud on the side of a dirt road the other day.. will have to upload soon the damages from that fun were: broke two tow straps trying to pull it out with a 4WD 4runner, had to leave jeep until the next morning and call a towtruck, which had trouble winching it out! major rocks stuck everywhere... between brake pads and rotor, inside dried mud in the wheels, seeming bent steering as well. also it shudders horribly bad and seems like it's going to self destruct at 55mph needless to say, my girlfriend was very mad that I decided to take this detour on our way home from a shopping trip
  9. a little off topic here, as it wasn't an ea82, but while driving my '88 XT6 I got hit in the driver's side front fender by a brand new honda civic that blew a stop sign onto a major highway at 35mph or so... I was going 45mph. the front of the honda was completely ripped off. engine, fenders, radiator, hood, bumper were laying in pieces on the road. my car the front control arm got bent, the body got tweaked, and the fender got smashed. old subarus less safe? *shrug* not to me. oh by the way I was wearing automatic shoulder belt + lap belt
  10. would it be possible to get some pics? some people around here are running around in seriously rusted soobs and they're doing fine.. my dad's friend had the unibody in one of his old wagons literally snap in half when he was driving down the road though.. pics showing where the rust is particularly bad would help on the judging
  11. you're in the right forum... all you need to do is look around I've seen quite a bit of information on this topic lately. a search would probably turn up what you're looking for
  12. I'd look for a winch that will pull at least 3000lbs.. 1500 seems way too light.. plus what if you need to pull someone else driving something heavier out? you are driving a subaru remember
  13. I'm gonna get a new xt6 and since I have a parts car with 3 working air bags I figured I'd try and find one used online that still holds air... man would I like to have one of the few running xt6's with good air suspension.... most are coilovers already.. i want adjustable from within the cab height control...
  14. sweet sweet sweet power to weight ratio ! sounds like it's gonna be one mean ride...
  15. sounds like a great idea! I was looking for trails the other day and wondered why there weren't more things like this
  16. sure is bright, but I like it... especially with those rims
  17. KC2HWI here, although I haven't touched a radio in a couple of years :-\
  18. I wanna get a wagon and put a VW diesel engine in it... then power it with waste vegetable oil.. my girlfriend is considering buying a newer jetta to convert to WVO as well
  19. is your carb getting WAY too much fuel when the engine is running?
  20. check out http://bbs.legacycentral.org !!!! lots of great information
  21. yeah, a subaru pulling a landrover out of a mudhole is like... well.. I guess it's like a subaru pulling a landrover out of a mudhole! no comparison
  22. super cool! I especially love the nice condition old soobs pictured there... very nice
  23. my opinion is that you can never innovate too much! go for it
