  1. advance auto actually has a strict "NO-MIX" policy.. my mom was a manager there for years.. if the people that take their oil finds out there is other stuff in it, they pay a hefty fine... but maybe that's just the ones around here?
  2. my car has these lights on the bumper.. the previous owner put them there. just found this pic, apparently he had them on the car before mine too.. here is one of the cars he had before mine with the same lights:
  3. mapquest says 4hrs 6min from albany... but it depends on how fast you drive
  4. on my xt6 this same thing happened.... the problem turned out to be the "outer" ring of the harmonic balancer separating from the "inner" ring of the harmonic balancer.... there is a ring of rubber between the two that breaks loose and allows the "outer" to slip on the "inner" it's worth checking out. on mine I finally noticed it because I could read the belt as it was spinning with the car running..........
  5. +1 for rusted out filler tube... my legacy had a plastic "guard" that only managed to "guard" the sand and crap that was held between itself and the fuel filler tube... I ripped that out of there, took off the filler tube, sanded and painted... the rust was already starting
  6. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57551
  7. you can get an sti drivetrain in the newer ones that they just released... there is a thread about it somewhere.. might even be in this forum
  8. can also use a heavy duty bolt... I have one that I keep in the toolbox with the threads ground down.. it fits perfectly and has removed quite a few axles
  9. I.. uh... I uh... I like the way it is now better than the concept..
  10. my dad has a saab from the 70's with real cool 4lug alloy wheels it'd be cool if this worked (but I don't have anything 4lug)
  11. you must have more time than me that's a cool looking brat... the title says you'll take $10 ?
  12. you know, I think the legacy might have similar symptoms while turning, but not really as bad.. and mostly just while at full lock (I haven't driven it in a couple months :-\ ) but I seem to remember being able to gas it and get going.. then let off the gas and turn steering wheel to full lock, and the car will sit there idling not going anywhere I'll try it out when I get home in an hour _edit_ the legacy is also a '91... maybe the 4eat's were crappy in 91
  13. I had the same problem with the legacy (4eat) rolling off a jack while in park... wtf is the deal with that, anyway? dad said bad parking prawl (sp?) but it didn't have the problem you're talking about
  14. haven't we all... I went to sears with the girlfriend last weekend.. had to get some more clothes for work as most of what I had was wintery type stuff... she had to drag me kicking and screaming from the tools section.. as we "ha[d] limited funds and are here for a purpose"
  15. heat it if you have to, it'll break the loctite
  16. retrofitting forum.... but basically any "earlier" legacy will have what you need
  17. you could also drive to the adirondack park for lotsa good wheeling. send me a PM if you'll be up my way
  18. also not to hijack, but autozone and the like carry that plastic flexible conduit that comes in a bazillion colors (black, red, blue, yellow, I think ) but that stuff can really clean up an engine bay cluttered with wires
  19. steering problems are generally an 89 cent fix unless you pay the $12 or whatever from the dudes in canada
  20. yeah mapquest says I'm 2.5 hrs away from you there's lots of good stuff in the adirondacks... make you a deal, I'll get the outback struts on the lego and come down there, and then you can come up here
