  1. I called and got a quote for a new water pump and thermostat. The shop I contacted quoted me $350-400 dollars. Does that seem a little steep?
  2. Driving down the street and all of a sudden I hear this sudden constant rattling under the hood. Open the hood and the radiator fan isn't spinning and is shaking violently. I turn off the engine and inspect the belts which seem fine, but the radiator fan is just hanging loose. Whats the scoop?
  3. I guess you didn't get the sarcasm in my statement. Either way Lt. Globe does have a pretty good ring to it.
  4. No need to get hasty. Not all of the people in Idaho live as close to the Washington border as you do. Oh and thanks for informing me that WA is right next to ID. I had no idea
  5. take out the rear seats and fab up a hot tub in the back. Painted camo to match the car of course
  6. yeah, option 1 was never really an option for me. May consider option 3. Thanks for the photoshop
  7. thanks xbeerd. can you do another photoshop where the red goes up the A-pillar and continues all the way back to the hatch? if that makes sense
  8. anyone got any pics so I can see the differences?
  9. Thinking about painting my roof black. I've seen one or two that have painted the entire roof black but what I'm really looking for is someone who has painted the roof black but left the A pillar and along the top of the doors the normal color. Pics of either would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I have recently noticed that my passenger side CV boot has cracked and sprayed a bunch of grease in the back of my engine bay. The joint itself is now starting to make a light clicking sound when slowing down. I have taken corners and bumps very cautiously. I may have to take a trip next week that will be about 600 miles round trip. I dont have the money to fix this for a few weeks. My question is how long can I expect to go? Am I damaging more things by continuing to drive it like this? Whats the worst that can happen while driving? '87 GL 4X4 Wagon.
  11. Having this issue arise in my volkswagen corrado I found a solution used by many others. The volkswagen passat cup holder. Here is all the info you need: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://passat.stoynev.us/mods/cupholder/B4_cupholder_open.JPG&imgrefurl=http://passat.stoynev.us/mods/mk3_cupholder.html&usg=__YIUUOuDiwBJZqsWs5fH7dLTvmiY=&h=480&w=640&sz=85&hl=en&start=4&um=1&tbnid=GNANhdFZfui75M:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpassat%2Bcup%2Bholder%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1 A bit pricey though. Might be able to find it cheaper anywhere else besides the dealer
  12. haha...yeah definitely using the word expert loosely. Definitely have a lot to learn and quite a few years until even considering myself the "resident expert." Thanks for all the advice. Thanks to your reply my GL is now running like a champ. Even took her on a nice little fishing trip today.
