  1. I put a 96 manual 2.2(no egr) into a 97 obw that had a 2.5 with EGR and it runs mint except for the EGR code.
  2. I'm hoping I can find someone who has a 1997 or newer legacy with a 2.2L in it and a 5 speed manual. It must be a manual transmission, and if you have one I need you to find out if these cars came with EGR valves or not. I know most 96 2.2 5 speeds didn't have EGR but what about in 97?
  3. Anyone around here have a 1997 Legacy with a 2.2L and a 5 speed in it? I'm pretty sure the 97 2.2 5 speeds didnt have EGR and that would be the ECU I need. I need to find out if any 97 2.2's had no egr
  4. Thats cause its a 2000, I think they did out with all them completely after like 99. not sure though
  5. that could be... 2.5 is likely to produce much more emissions.
  6. Do ALL 5 speed outbacks, up to 99 atleast, have NO EGR? And basically the reason being because in a MT car you'd have no optimal time to introduce exhaust gasses.
  7. The ECU I need can be either auto or 5 speed, it would be actually any EJ motor after 96 with NO EGR would work for me. And I think all non EGRs were standards. I guess teh one I need isn't that extreme, but I don't see to many motors 2.5 or 2.2 after 96 that are non EGR
  8. I took the a constant 12v power wire, and hooked it up to the wire that what labeled ignition in my wiring diagram. It's a yellow wire, and I know when its not hooked up the ECU does not power up. I'm like 99% sure I got the right wire for the harness I'll double check with my voltmeter to see if the wire I used is a constant 12v.
  9. So it seems like the trend is most all subarus that were 5 speeds had no EGR valve, and all the ones that had auto trans did have EGR. Does anybody know why this is? Is having an EGR valve on a manual transmission car not work out as well or something or did they just not need them on those?
  10. Crappppp, I just found out the monitors still clear if the ECU is powered all the time, it must be killing power to whereever stores those monitors...
  11. So, I've done my ECU wiring, and I can keep it so the ECU never turns off. THe big question is going to be when I go to emissions and see what they say after hooking it up to the computer and try turning it off. Hopefully it still sees it as shut off and I'll pass no problem
  12. damn you mus tbe going a while with no oil change if that has to time to get that rusty.
  13. I don't get why subaru leaves out options like a tach on brigton models, if everything wired, it cant add much to the overall cost of building a car. They just must leave those things out so your more likely to be annoyed by not having simple little things like a tach and you'll just buy the loaded model.
