  1. I might be picking up a Brat this weekend and want to put a lift kit in. If I get teh BYB 3"/4" kit can i squeeze 235/75R15's under it? I have the tires left over from a dodge i had a few years ago and they only have about 3-4k miles on them. It would be great if i could reuse these, especially because they are snow tires and the brat will be used for winter use mostly. -Saint
  2. Just like JonOfScio said, there are other companies that are getting that much HP out of a small engine. My Toyota Matrix has the 1.8 2zz engine and it gets 180hp stock. with the few mods I have done it is almost up to 200hp. A few people that have the same engine in their Celica GT-S have slapped on a turbo and are pulling 260+hp. but you have to remember that this engine runs like its on crack, it has a 2nd cam that kicks in at 6000rpm and doesnt hit its peak hp till its redline at 8500rpm. -Saint
  3. Just getting into this whole Brat thing. is there anyone up in the MA/NH seacoast area? -Saint
  4. They are asking $700 and the truck is running fine. The turbo is off of an '84 Brat that was put to rest in a junk yard somewhere. Not sure if I will install it, but it is always an option. There are a number of other part to the car too. Another set of rims and tires (maybe the original, i think it has the over-sized Pugs on it now), a pair of seats for the bed, an extra front grill, brushguards, and some other stuff. As for the rust, the kid decided last winter that he was going to repaint the bed so he stripped all the paint off of it and it snowed before he got a chance to paint it. so the snow sat on bare metal all winter and well, it rusted. the metal is still in good shape, its just surface rust, maybe one or two small holes in the usuall spots. I have just finished restoring a 1950 chevy, so i am not afraid of rust and can patch in some new metal where its needed. -Saint
  5. Hello everyone. I have just found a 87 Brat for sale and am thinking about picking it up for a winter vehicle. Its in decent condition, just a little rust in the usual locations, but nothing I cant repair. The only thing that scares me so far is that the engine has 250k+ on it. There are also a number of parts that the guy is going to throw into the deal, including a turbo off an 84. Is there anyone up in the northern MA or southern NH area, I live right on the border there. -Saint
