  1. What other engines can be mated to a AWD Sub system? Anyone ever put like a big V8 in one but kept the stock drive train in tack, but maybe beefed up???
  2. Intresting, I think ours is acting up again too but on the left side, not sure on the miles but it was just a few years ago and the right one is still stock. When ours went it wasn't noticed till it was floppin around, done siezzed up and chewed its self up, and driven some still. As It didn't feel real bad just odd when driving, but when I put it up on jack stands and let it run in gear off the ground, it was very clear. Wonder if cause of that, plus also using a corner generic shop, that and them having you get the old one out and probably not knowing that about them, messed it up. And why we got a mystery roar/drone now.
  3. I can tell you that when our left rear one went bad, I tried my best to take it apart but there was no way. Had to take it to a shop, with big tools and big torches.
  4. Jacking up the rear, left side is heavier??? Playing "try to find the noise" game, when I put my SUV jack on the rear end, dead center and jack it up. The right side was off the ground a good 6-8in and the left was still touching. Figured that was due to the driveway crown for rain run off, so I turn it around the other way, jack dead center and it does it again. The right side is off the ground and the left still touches. Anyone else come across this? Could that be a sign of a blown strut or something? Had to jack on the frame where a lift pad would go to get the left side up.

  6. Making tire noise in the rear, had the tires checked and and rotated around and the noise isn't as loud but sitll there, sound like we got super swampers on it, when they are regular all season tires. Had a left rear bearing changed a few years back, but when it went bad, it didn't make noise like that. It was chunky, floppy noise, no tire whirle. But search and looking around it seems a tire change could fubar things, and a few month back we had a belt break on a tire making it grow hugh and it was drive for a bit till found out. But I just did the FWD fuse and the noise didn't change any. Though I did find a new apperciating for AWD, in FWD taking off on the ice it just spun, back to AWD and it takes off like it should. I love AWD
  7. Anyone? What size fuse, 5/10/20 AMP?? And then if the noise in the rear stops, what does that mean??? Whats happening inside that just running in FWD makes it go away???? Easy drive way fix, or $900 parts n labor time?????
  8. Thought we had some tire noise, a growl in the rear that gets louder with speed. Had the tires check per the AWD system incases it was a wear issue putting the front and rear ratio out of whack. [i assume the front tires spin a bit faster] Well the tires checked out, even swapped and rotated them all around and the noise stayed in the rear. Could be typical tire noise far as I know. Tires place didn't seem worried. Did check the rear axle fluid on my own just to be safe, and it was a bit over full and the odd parts was it was just plum full of air bubbles. Like a frothy mix. Now this was not what you see when water get in oil, I know what that looks like. It was completely full of air bubbles, though very clean looking. I wonder if I should just change it, doesn't hold a whole bunch but just regular 80/90??? Also wonder about does it need a POSI additive that have anti foaming agents in it???
