  1. I second that last excerpt by Deener, if you have already checked all of the hoses and fittings that interact with the path of the flow of coolant, take a look inside your radiator by taking off the cap, if there is excessive residue that is floating at the top of the water just in that area, have your radiator cleaned by a professional. Or just buy another one, but do remember, your tap water at your house may or may not be causing this issue that is causing the buildup in your radiator, so after cleaning/buying a radiator, run your car on a 50/50 Anti-freeze;Deionized water, and you will not have another problem like this again (granted you change it on a periodical basis). Due to 1) it flushing out the gunk from the engine itself, then 2) Deionized water will not corrode the aluminum radiator in your car near as bad as ordinary water from a faucet would do. This is a long term solution however.

  3. Hello All! I have the 'VIN-5 EA82, 4x4 92' loyale' And since I bought it, it has had a knocking noise from somewhere in the passenger axle area. The only thing is that the knocking only occurs under any acceleration, sometimes it even affects my steering wheel. So I took a look at it: the tie-rod end was worn badly (this explains why when I make a higher speed left turn the wheel starts to jump-wobble so bad it wont steer straight) So I shall be replacing that as soon as Schucks receives the part today, but what would cause the knocking? The CV's look fine, no split boots, and no worn rubber, but I know from experience that even if they look good on the outside, the bearings may be shot... anyway, I would like some advice on what it could be and where I should be looking? Sorry guy's - I know that I should be more thorough on my search's, but driving my newly bought '92 Loyale (vin 5, 4wd, Fi, non-hatch etc) home today my check engine light suddenly came on, I heard no distinguishable difference in the engine noise, and the motor sounded fine when I (thankfully) got home and popped the hood and revved it by hand... -My question is: What is the most common thing in that ea82 to throw a CEL? my assumption is a popped-off vacuum line, or cat. wire came loose etc... can somebody help newbie subie out? thanks, -BHawk
  5. thanks bud! i took the pulley to schucks and they pulled out a pilot bearing and lo-and behold same size inside and outside dia.
  6. Ok finally for the fix, what size is that replaceable bearing in the v-belt tensioner for the A/C? and is it common enough for most schucks/napa's to carry at all times?
  7. Oh i gotcha, so they act kind of like relief belt's for eachother or something? Ill go remove it right now, real quickly, would i be able to remove it without cutting it and digging too deep into the engine? its a tad bit chilly outside...
  8. thanks for the advice, however I was able to completely take apart the bearing down to the balls, and tracks just by removing the bolt, so I don't believe it is a true sealed bearing, I will look for that pulley kit right now, and in the meantime, I will look to a local hardware or autoparts store for another bearing to pack in, or another assembly. Now the question is, Will it run/drive without the rear accessory belt attached?

Also, I have a funny question, I have a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD that had brand new struts/springs put into it before it was wrecked, leaving the shock assemblies unharmed (thankfully) But my Subie suspension is a little 'lack-luster' does anyone from experience know if any parts of a 1ga DSM's suspension would fit onto a 1992 Loyale EA82? because I will just have to scrap it if it doesn't fit... Luckily I smelled and spotted the frozen pulley in time, but on my Subaru, there are 2 belts (both for accessory I assume) The front one (furthest from firewall) that wraps most of the entire accessory side, and the back one, the back one is the one in question (closer to firewall) the adjustable pulley for belt tightness froze, because the bearings blue'd. The only problem is that it has started snowing and my other car hates the snow and my loyale loves it! So If I were to remove the back v-belt, what would I be eliminating until I were to fix it? On top of that, what is the preferred method of fixing a tensioner pulley with frozen bearings? Re-pack it? or buy another complete pulley? Thanks, -BHawk
