  1. 15's will fit (every Subaru rim will fit except SVX and 2005 STi) and so will 16's (i.e. WRX takeoffs).
  2. This Subaru isn't for the current Subaru owner. They needed to get out of their niche (outdoor person, hippie, lesbian, flower hauler...whatever) to become more accessible for the other people. In this case, parents who don't want to buy a minivan. So it's an interesting, bold departure for Subaru...let's see where it takes us
  3. Is the steering wheel vibrating/shaking when you brake, or does it feel like its coming from the seat?
  4. love it but whats up with the check engine light!? Anyone know the bolt pattern for the rims?
  5. When my aftermarket cd player died way back when, I called the company that made it and asked what to do. I had to take it out of the dash and touch a couple of wires to my battery to eject it (purple and gray?). Anyhow, yes, you can most likley get the CD back without destroying the unit, but you will probably most definately have to remove the unit from the dash. Kevin
  6. or someone could get your VIN from a parking lot... call back and see whats up!
  7. I was strictly talking about the 1.6L engine from his 2000 GL...I thought I was pretty clear. If he is shopping from an american based vendor, then any product for a 1993-2001 Impreza will be ok for him to use (Body, suspension, rims, interior, audio ect ect) excepting engine related products. Thats not to say that some parts from the 1.8L or the 2.2L engines won't work on the 1.6, but I think this board may be hard pressed to find someone that actually does know how interchangable the 1.6 is with US engines.
  8. The 1.6 litre engine was never offered in the US Legacy/Impreza lineup. Is your Impreza the 1.6 FWD? If you are shopping for parts from America online, everything from 1993 to 2001 will fit your application, as long as it isn't engine related. Thats not to say some engine stuff wouldn't work, but no one on this side of the Atlantic deals with that engine. Good Luck, Kevin
  9. master cylinder on its way out maybe? was what you are describing the reason for you thinking you needed to do brake work, or is this new? Kevin
  10. I personally upgraded from the 13mm to a 18mm on my Impreza sedan in 2000 I believe. It was an actual bar from FHI and it came with bushings that fit in the stock brackets. Check out this page (excellent vendor by the way) for suspension and handling options. Everything will fit your OBS unless it says it wont. Sounds like you want to stay stock, so stay with the SOA/FHI 18mm bar which is available from the above link and/or your dealer. Other than that, you really have no other options. Good luck with it! Kevin
  11. ditto on the cupped tires...I'm still on my winters because I CANT go through another summer with my cupped all seasons! I thought that it was my rear wheel bearings going out on me, but when I switched over to my winter tires the sound went away 1000000%. Do you have another set of tires to switch out with? The shake sounds like the tire is out of balance...did you loose a wheel weight? The sound the all-seasons make drives me nuts I really need to do something about them soon....Cooper Cobra GTH's by the way, I can't recommend them
  12. On the older Subarus it was definately a 22mm socket, but on the newer ones, I do believe they switched to torx, partially to avoid oil change f'ups;)
  13. Ever wonder why you never see any hotties when you drive? The V-Chip has been blocking your eyes from ever seeing anything greater than G rated content!
  14. Wow, stamped like that on the case!? Picture to share with us? I thought that the motor importer was just getting Nissan and Subaru confused:lol:
  15. Definately check the differential oil. If it hasn't been changed recently (30k miles or so) change it. It takes like 15 minutes. Good luck!
