  1. Yeah, I was thinking it was something to do with the ABS. Does the pedal feel any different when it is making the buzzing sound?
  2. Thanks for caring USMB:banana: I am definately not doing a clutch job myself haha thats funny just thinking about it...
  3. A couple months ago my car had a leaky head gasket, so I took it to the dealer I purchased it from in order to get it documented and taken care of. It just so happens that it was time for the oil change as well, so I said, "Hey, can you please change the oil while the car is here." Fast forward 3 months/3000 miles. I go to change my oil today. First off, it took me 3 tries to break the oil filler cap loose. Strange I was thinking, but whatever. I thought that was a workout...I go to take the drain bolt out and it just won't budge! The car is rocking back and forth and I am using all of my 143 pounds of might to get it out. Screw this I say, I'm not breaking anything. I cringe to think how tight the oil filter is on:eek: I'm flippin mad rightnow. And to top it off, my clutch is starting to slip with only 60,xxx miles in 3-4th gears at about 4,000rpm...right where all of the power is. I think that the previous owner is mostly to blame for that one since I have owned the car for about 12,000 miles, and I was proficient in driving a standard before this car. Ahhhh, all finished. Thanks for listening USMB. Kevin
  4. Any idea exactley how fast the campground fills up...i.e. when would I probably have to know if I am going or not by? Is it a super busy place where everyone from boston escapes to, or is it semi-ok? Thanks, Kevin
  5. I should know tomorrow if I can make the first weekend in June. Mary, it's really nice of you to offer your place for this:)
  6. Nice! I'll be posting some updated pictures soon...my wagon has some new shoes. I'll give a hint...an aftermarket Subaru specific rim that is rarely seen on Subarus. Muwwhhahahahahahahaha
  7. I do like it, I really do:headbang: You should post it in the "wagons only" thread to keep all of the awesome wagon shots together in one place http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45871&highlight=wagons+only Kevin
  8. Same side, front to rear. I do it every other oil change (9,000 to 10,000 miles) or as needed by wear. I check my air pressure about two times a week and inspect tires for wear at the same time. The rotation instructions should be in that nice new owners manual:)
  9. Speen Street Auto is one that has been mentioned here before. On NASIOC, I haven't heard anything good about Natick Subarus service dept, so go there with caution. From my travels in the area, there is what looks like to be a really nice shop over by TJX (I think thats where it is at least) that mainly does Saabs/Lotus. The few times I was there, it looked like a really clean place and the attendant was friendly....I also maybe saw them working on a subie:confused:Anyhow, thats all I got I can't remember the name for the life of me unfortunately. Kevin
  10. Those diagrams are spot on. You will need to remove the two screws in the top of the ashtray (look in it then look up) in order to budge the left hand side off. Good luck! Kevin
  11. Have you ever thought about lowering it...that would get rid of the wheel gap
  12. This months issue of ScoobySport has a 06 NA Impreza wagon v.s. 98 Forester v.s. Honda CRV. The article may be worth the trip to Barnes and Noble to read it
  13. I put it on my calendar of things to do:)
  14. I will check the CV situation via your method tomorrow hopefully. I have 4 new snow tires on the beast...probably about 6,000 miles. I will check those as well. Would a broken belt on the tire be noticeable? The brakes on the front appeared to be new when I purchased it (pads and rotors). I really appreciate the help! Thank you:) Kevin
  15. My Subaru has a quirk (which one doesn't) but I am thinking it's more of a problem lately. 2001 Subaru Legacy L wagon 59,500 miles (I have owned it since 47K) 5-speed manual When I start from a stop (first gear or reverse) with the wheels turned, the steering wheel vibrates pretty hard, kind of like a pulsation as I am giving it gas and letting the clutch engage at approximately 1500rpm. It goes away when the wheels are straight and the clutch is fully engaged. It also vibrates sometimes on low speed second gear turns, for example, pulling into a parking spot. Things that I checked: -Tire pressure is ok -Tire wear is ok -Tire rod end boots are fine -All axle boots are in good shape -Steering rack is tight, fluid is at the appropriate level -Transmission mount to the center x-member had a new bolt installed by me a few weeks ago on a snapped stud. It is tight and ok. -Transmission mount to the transmission was missing 1 of the 4 bolts somehow. I put another one in tonight and the pulsation is still there...no better, no worse, so not the problem IMO. Is there anything else I can check myself before I drop it off at the local specialist? Any ideas? Thanks for the help, Kevin
  16. May 20th is the Wicked Big Subaru Meet at Nashoba Valley Ski Area. http://www.wickedbigmeet.com/ Just a FYI:banana:
  17. 2001 Legacy L...depending on the season: 195/60/15 (re92s on steelies) 205/60/15 (stock re92son steelies) 185/65/15 (Winterforce on steelies) 215/55/16 (Fuzion HRi on 16x7 rims...sitting in the garage waiting for the threat of snow to go away:) )
