  1. Well since Shawn at RetroRoo did my 2.2 and 5spd swap, along with the rear disk brake install, 6 lug hub swap and 4" lift install, I would say him! The only thing I didn't have done is the power steering install, which is something I'm eyeing in the near future!
  2. Sure Thing! When's that show? The next one I had an eye on is the Wisconsin Dells Automation that's roughly the 3rd week in May held on the Noah's Ark grounds. Great show, tons of different cars, awesome 3 ft. high trophies.
  3. Thanks Scooner, appreciate it! It is, not a screamer off the line, but it's got some great top end!
  4. Well, I feel like my 82' BRAT build has felt a little like Jurassic Park at times...65 Million Years in the Making, lol! In actuality, it's been 4 years since driving it back home from L.A. in March of 2011. Still have a few more things that I'd like to do and dial in a bit more, but I guess that's always seems to be the case. But with that said, I was able to enter it into my first car show this past weekend at the World of Wheels Milwaukee and also did drive it to and from the show in the middle of February in Wisconsin, so it certainly won't ever be a trailer queen! Also happened to take first place in my class which was (Mini Pick-Up Truck - Pre-88 beat out a few Yotas & Mazdas. So needless to say I feel pretty good about finally getting it close to what I had invisioned in my head. I also want to thank a few people for getting it to this point. ShawnW / RetroRoo: - Rear Disk Brake & 6 Lug Hub Conversion - 2.2L & 5 Speed Swap - 4" Lift Install Nagel Autobody: - Premium Bed Line-X - Trimming of Front Fender Wells - Paint and Body Michael Appel: - 4" Lift & Re-drilled 6 Lug Hubs Still To Do's: - Charcoal Gray BRAT Strip - Custom Roll Bar - Air Conditioning - Power Steering Yeah, I know, i know... Blah! Blah! Blah! Where's the pics?!?!?!
  5. No matter what they're were made of, I think we can agree that a decent repro would be unanimously welcomed!
  6. All the trim pieces around the bed, doors and windshield were all polished aluminum. I'd definitely would be interested in a couple of them and $70 would be a great deal! Now with that said, we're talking a very close to original replica of the Gen 2 tailgate trim? Are you thinking or planning that the reproduction would have the thin rubber trim on it as well?
  7. Daaaaaaaaammmn! Da! Da! Daaaaaaaammmn! NICE! That has to be one of the highest honors, having a vintage vehicle displayed in a new car show room... Congrats!
  8. Cool Pic!, but kinda' sad as well, seeing these these Brats with no jump seats means they were 86 or 87's and near the end for the U.S. Market! :-/
  9. The little round black plastic pieces? Those are still available through Subaru.
  10. I had mine done as well and with the Line-X Premium, this version doesn't dull down and resists sun fade, etc, it was $500. I also had them do the jump seats and they turned out awesome! They look brand new and practically look like they can from the factory that way!
  11. Ok, the number of lugs is throwing me off a bit, but I had a rear disk break conversion done on my 82' Brat with a break set-up from a 91' XT and ordered a full set of drilled and slotted rotors from R1 concepts. And at the same time had a 6 lug conversion done. I included a screen cap of my order from R1 concepts for visual reference, hopefully this will help. Best,
  12. Great looking Brat! Hope you get everything sorted out, seams like a relatively small fix.
  13. NICE! I think this is the very first time I've seen a lifted Baja! Now just get those front windows tinted!
  14. A couple of years ago I purchased a lock and cylinder set from him for my 82' BRAT and at that time I also asked him about who might be able to do an EJ 2.2 and 5 speed swap for me. We exchanged numbers and spoke over the phone for about an hour or so. Extremely nice man and very helpful, he put me in contact with one of his sons regarding getting the work done on my Brat, in the end I had ShawnW do the work for location, timing, etc, but for the very brief time that our paths crossed, I couldn't sing higher praises for a human being. Sorry to hear of Ed's passing and my sincerest condolences go out to his family, they were blessed to have him in their lives for the time that they did.
