  1. Thanks;) The car only has minor surface rust, and not anywhere in the vicinity of the belt area. But, I will pull back the plastic to see if there is any rust there.
  2. The safety belts in the rear of my XT are damp. Any idea where the water will be getting through? We have had alot of rain lately, but I have no idea how the water got in. Any ideas? Seals??
  3. Thanks for the replies. Yes, my XT is a turbo model and already has plenty of power. I have read that the turbo is somewhat on the small side and was wondering if a turbo from a 2L legacy would bolt on there. I am not familiar with turbo's, but was thinking that the 2L turbo would be bigger, thus, give me more power? If this is possible, would I also need to use the intercooler from the legacy?
  4. Does anyone else roll down their windows to hear the sound of their engine? This is my first subaru (XT Turbo) 2 1/4? straight pipe, and I can't get enough of the grumbly sound it makes. And not unlike a V8, I can 'feel' the engine as well. I love it:brow:
  5. What about the turbo only fitted to my engine? Is that do-able?
  6. How about just transplanting the turbo onto my engine? What about the intercooler?
  7. ...into an '86 XT without too many problems? My XT is front wheel drive, and all turbo legacy engines down here are in AWD vehicles. Has anyone done this before? Would it be feasible to put a Legacy turbo in place of mine? Would I need to fit an intercooler? Any info will be much appreciated.
  8. "1986 XT Turbo 2wd here. Soon to have an EJ22 in the engine bay thanks to a blown headgasket" Is that a Legacy/Liberty engine? Turbo? If not, does anyone know if a 90's model 2L Legacy turbo engine would work ok in an XT? Anyone done it?
  9. Can someone post some pics of an XT with some aftermarket rims? I've been looking all over, but so far nothing special. Thanks.
  10. Just wondering how many XT/Vortex owners there are here. I've just purchased an '86 XT Turbo and I absolutely love it:D I love the grumbly sound and feel of that boxer engine and the arcade style dash board. What more can I say about the stick shift....I love it I love this car because it is so different to everything thing else on the road....well, except for the other XT/Vortex in town:D
