  1. 1988 Subaru GL-10 turbo 169000km's Everything in my car is like new, seats and all, and the outside is ok except for the wheel wells which I could probably easly put my foot through. My question is, how would you guys fix this if you wanted it to look nice? Has anyone here ever used bondo? What would be the best way to repair this? And if I were to replace the fenders which might be the only choice to do. How would I do it. Should I get a proffessional to do it because when you replace fenders it looks like there is some cutting involved and weilding. does anyone know of a website that shows you how to use bondo? any help is appreciated. oh yes and the car is so low because the suspension is getting put in on thursday.

  3. Ok my fenders are rusted to death and thats the only part on the car thats rusted so does anyone know a site that sells fenders for a 1988 subaru GL-10?
  4. Hey, I took my subaru for a drive tonight ( its a GL-10) and whenever I come back from a drive the engine is extremealy hot and there is lots of steam or whatever riseing from the hood but the car sounds fine and all the fluids and stuff are good. What could it be?
  5. thanks for the info on the life of the car but I am still wanting to know the estimated price or if someone here has had it done but the price of the rust being cut out and new metal being put in. so in easy terms, -how much for the metal -how much for the welder to shape and weld it on -the rust has attacked a 4 wheel wells and is totally destroying them so I want to get this done fast so please reply if you can thanks a bunch

  7. Hey everyone, My older brother gave me a 1988 subaru gl automatic all wheel drive 4 door car. it has a turbo charger in it also. It has about 167000 km's on it and the inside is in perfect shape. I had to get the suspension replaced and thats about it. The outside is in awsome shape except for the wheel well. It has lots of rust underneath it but it is just starting to make its way to the outside of the wheel well. My first question is how should I repair this? Should I bondo it? or I was thingking of getting it cut out and a peice welded in. If I did that whats the estimated cost? and what kind of metal should I get welded in place? another question I have is how long do these subarus last? like how many km's before you start haveing majour problems? and I will try and post a pic but how much do you estimate a car like this is worth? Any help is much appreciated! thanks
  8. I want to repair the rust I dont care how much money or time it takes. The car is in wicked shape inside everyting in power like the locks and sunroof and windows and I want to keep the outside in good condition to. so I know theres people out there who know lots about this and help in much appreciated
  9. Hey everyone, I just got my 89 subaru gl and it even has a super charger or sumthin like that in it. I have a problem with the rust though, Its mainly in the back wheel well and working its way to the outside of the car and I want to stop it now. I'v heard about cutting it out and getting someone to weld a new piece of metal on it or something. but any tips and help is much appreciated.
