  1. As a EA81T aficionado like Rob, my suggest would be the same as his. Modification that are removable and do not harm the integrity of the vehicle and that are reversible are acceptable. Cutting fenders to install bigger tires probably would hurt he value. Unfortunately, it is never going to be a REALLY valuable Shelby Cobra, so you should just enjoy it and keep all the parts you take off.
  2. I am the owner of over 5 Subaru BRATs and if it is not rusty it is worth $500 any day of the week. Hell a good rear tailgate goes for over $400 on Ebay. If it is not worth fixing part it out.
  3. Because we ran out of a few sizes we opened ordering of shirts up and then we were going to post order them. But in the hecticness of closing down the show, getting ready to move and stuff we have seem to lost the sheet that said who post- ordered and their addresses. Know people on the list Turbone Monica Tex If you have already paid and would like to receive your shirt we need you to email me @ richie@fixmysuby.com. Would like to put a final order in Monday. Also if you would still like to get a shirt, you can pay by paypal and get them ordered til Monday (more info in previous posts or email me)
  4. Shirt set up expensive, the only way to make it cost effective is to sell a lot of them like we do at the show. We probably won't make money on these extra shirts that we order but we want everyone that was at the show that wants one to get one. We ran out of Med and Small very early.
  5. Because of the Great Attendance of this year show we ran out of shirts!!! (I think for the first time since I been helping sell them) We are going to reopen shirt sales and keep it open for a few weeks and then submit our order and then ship them out to you!!!! If you attended the show you saw that it has all the previous locations on it. If you were unable to attend this show but have been to some of the previous ones, it would be a nice shirt to have to show people which ones you have been to. Sometimes, we have items left over after the show, but not guaranteed so we recommend you pre-order to guarantee the sizes/quanitity you request.
  10. Registration gets everyone in your vehicle in to the show. If they want goody bags then they can register as well.
  11. There will be shirts, mugs questionable because of time frame. You will have to deal with me again, but Jerry doesn't have to pre-pay cuz I always loose his money.
  12. Though I am not the "voice" of the show, I am going to put in my two cents here. THERE WILL BE NO KEG THIS YEAR!!!! Anyone possessing one, will be asked to leave by me, be cause 1) I am not paying the fine for the new Washington Law 2) I am not going to be sued after someone fall/get hits by a car/drives a car/is underage. There will probably be more about alcohol mentioned by the show, but I am telling you as a sponsor and committee member that I personally will not tolerate excessive alcohol (meaning more than personal usage)
  13. I own a independent Subaru Repair shop and I use the union sanyo filter, I can still get them using the older AA080 number. They are the larger filter, even though Subaru has gone to a smaller filter, I still use the larger filter on the cars that originally came with it since THAT IS HOW THE CAR WAS DESIGNED. If the car was designed for a smaller filter from the factory or has the wrap around exhaust I use the Union Sanyo AA100. It indefinitely has more material in it then the "OEM" Subaru one. The Subaru small oil filter story goes as this: Subaru USA originally had a white oil filter, it either leaked or cost too much money, so they used the Japanese Subaru oil filter, which was black. It leaked. So Subaru is now using the Canadian oil filter. Guess what? It leaks!!! I have gotten two in from dealership where the filter is leaking. Install new filter $4 and get a new customer. To the end of my story, there are a lot of independent shops that buy 100% of their parts from Subaru, but just cuz Subaru sticks it in a box does not always mean it is the best product out there or most cost effect for customers. Whenever I can I research to find the OE part and buy from a supplier that carries it rather than from Subaru to pay the extra mark-up. Occasionally there is a better product out there, aka the oil filters All my older Legacy get the bigger filters because that is how they came when they were build. Richie http://www.fixmysuby.com
  14. Like you a customer of mine just bought a Outback SE and said it was going to be cheaper with the interest rate then buying the 07 w/ 17k miles on it.
  15. Not the best way of getting a hold of me but I actually had a few minutes to play online. My work is 503.236.7759 or cell is 503.515.xxxx (but really don't like talking about cars on the weekend unless it is by email) :) I'll try to get that up here, been sick all week long....

  16. Congratulations!!! From Richie, Lisa & Caitlyn.
  17. Most Subaru Dealership have three levels of 30k Service BASIC as per owners manual (Silver) Medium, basic plus transmission service (Gold) Premium, flush all fluids (Platinum) Even as part of the basic service, they are to check the other fluids as per the owners manual, if they find something that needs to be replaced/repaired they usually call you and ask you. WHY CHECK STUFF? Because it might be dirty and might need replaced. Mechanic might have thought you wanted the medium service (recommend for most driving conditions) especially if it has taken you 3 years to get to 30k. (all fluids should be replaced every 3 years) and so they had to give it you. As a Subaru repair shop owner, I can say that the newer car fluid does look dirty at 30k miles, I think the fluid that is installed at the factory isn't as red looking as most if yours is a 4EAT. If your vehicle is a 5 speed Auto your a fool not to change it every 30k because there is not external filter. And have seen these trannys going bad about 100k (from what you ask? In frequent servicing of the transmission) Also the dealership can void warranties if you decline service and later that conponent becomes an issue, doesn't happen often but can happen. Just be happy that they took care of you, and did not hassle with trying to charge you with it. Doesn't sound like such a bad place, and in addition if you do not trust them, why did you take your car there?
