  1. run the weber it is a much better design and will help driveability emencly the stock carbs suck hitachi never could make a good downdraft carb
  2. what does he think he has? i mean it looks like it got into a fight with godzilla and lost
  3. the subaru is showing signs that its low compression cannot be ignored any longer so ordering parts tomorrow and doing work!
  4. i would simply on the basis that if you want one that bad hold out for one thats in good shape cause if you get that one you will be unhappy with it because its so beat it will depress you looking at it but it would be a perfect candidate for a huge lift
  5. holy codswalloping hell that thing is THRASHED hood front fenders tailgate and bumpers are thrashed interior is fubar i find it funny that it has the tweeked right front fender in the same place mine does right where it meets the door i paid a whole 200 for mine and its in a shitload better condition granted i dont think the guy knew what he had for 800 bucks i personally feel thats pushing it for a parts car
  6. i would go for it it would be easier then trading mine XD 800 doesnt seem to bad but im not the best judge because i got mine for a smoking deal main places i would check is the "frame rails" under the car make sure there solid if not its will be a bitch to weld up new ones
  7. strange my 78 only has an electric fan and no prevision for a engine driven fan why not just go electric? would be alot easier to find and can be cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/14-Inch-Reversable-Curved-Blade-Electric-Radiator-Cooling-Fan-12V-1900CFM-/130857790795?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e77bb6d4b&vxp=mtr with a hayden fan controller http://www.ebay.com/itm/Derale-16759-Fan-Control-Thermostatic-Adjustable-150-to-240-Degrees-Kit-/330884115844?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0a3aed84&vxp=mtr for about 100 bucks you can run 2 fans with the same controller allowing for better cooling and no drag on the engine just an idea though I have basicly given up on replacing stuff like stock fans because for one there hard to find and for 2 there are solutions out there that preform better so why stick with the old tech?
  8. what parts? because i have never had issues finding parts at least ones that make it function such as engine parts and suspension and brakes
  9. tore it down some more now doing some head scratching to figure out how to get the cam gear off
  10. the more i look at this ......the more i freaking want it lol it needs a good drop though i think i would convert it to 6 lug just for rim selection but other then that
  11. this wagon is almost an exact duplicate of mine lol as for taking the dash out its not to difficult really if you have a mechanical backround like you say it shouldn't be difficult
  12. off topic a little but i hate you i want a honda 600 so freaking badly
  13. any engine with 30 year old seals will leak its that simple but with all new seals it shouldnt leak simple as that if they all leaked by design people would have been flooding the dealerships wanting there vehicles fixed under warrentee
  14. sorry i dont buy this it will leak just because its a specific kind of engine? im sorry i call bullshit. i re did the head gaskets on my 78 wagon when i first got it and wouldnt you know it every gasket i replaced didnt leak now here we are a year and a half later and get this it still doesnt leak
  15. good im glad to hear it cause once i check my specs im going to order a re ring kit from them
  16. well since the engine thats in the car is low on compression i pulled the complete engine that i got with the car out of the shed and took a look at it to see if its worth re ringing it so i can just swap motors instead of having the car down for a week parts 2 of the bores had some rust in them after cleaning this one turned out nice this one not so much and with the oil pan off so were gonna try honing it and if that bore doesnt clean up then ill pull and re ring the engine in the car
  17. no more carb issues now its gonna get a rebuild due to my lacking compression
  18. im 6'1" 330lbs and getting in and out of this thing isnt exactly graceful or enjoyable but thats more my weight cause im fighting between the b pillar and the steering wheel head room isnt bad neither is leg room though the seat has to be all the way back and i have to move my right leg around to shift
  19. how reputable is this site? looks nice and has everything i need for all 3 of my vehicles
  20. well compression test figures disappoint me at about 100 psi so rebuild is in order i have found some parts on rock auto to make this happen for under 200 bucks but i cant find crank main bearings i can find con rod bearings but no main bearings they also dont offer different sizes so does that mean overbore pistons arent available? if thats the case that makes things a little easier
  21. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah
  22. well i was driving home from bend on sunday and as i pulled into the driveway at 9 oclock at night it died and wouldnt crank over due to a dead battery well today i finally got around to looking at it and found my problem after looking it over i looks like it was the original belt or close to it new belt and problem solved
  23. replaced the battery cables today and found out that it still had the original battery cables it cranks over alot better now and the entire electrical system is much happier
