  1. Checking it daily, I just picked up the armrest from you a few days ago.
  2. Sorry for the lack of posts on the website lately.. Frankly havent even logged on in quite some time. The build is idle at the moment has been for a little over 8 months now, unfortunately... I got reassigned new job and all (in the Air Force) and have been trying to get the family situated before jumping elbow deep in the car again. Hopefully this winter I can get the body work completely finished up. Here is a picture of what she looked like when I loaded it on the trailer to move up to Indiana. As you can see I have gone pretty extensive on the build...
  3. Still hoping for a grill for the FF1... Any other parts you may have for it let me know.. -Earl
  4. What did you do with the grant steering wheel and hub? Looks like your going full stock restoration.. would you happen to want to go with amber side markers in the front? I would swap my ambers for your clears.. if you are up for it
  5. Quick shipping and great communication.. they they sell on EBay all the time too..
  6. I will be completely honest with you parts on these car are extremely hard to come by, you either need to find kind people on these forums that might have some NOS parts or find an old junked out one which is even harder to find.. Scrounging Ebay is goo but parts are hard to come by on there too.. I was lucky enough to get a lot of extra parts that I will hold onto forever until the other ones go bad.. You have to get very creative with some custom tweaks if you do not want to wait around for the actually part to pop up.. I know of a couple Coupes that are for sale right now and one sedan, all will need a lot of work to be road worthy, but it is possible with the right funds. If the one you are looking at for 1k is the one near Nashville it looks to be worth the money and the most intact out of all out there.. If you have any other questions just PM me.. Thanks for the kind words, she is coming along nicely.. I am still on my goal date of being back on the road by June, but we all know how quickly that date could change.. Parts here are just as difficult to acquire for these guys.. Best bet is Ebay or Japan Yahoo Auctions.. I decided to go with the EA71 (1600 cc motor) since parts are a little easier to find... you might try cleggs engines for a possible rebuild kit (unsure if they carry a 1300 motor, but its worth a try)... www.cleggengine.com
  7. My bad said wrong suby the lid came off of.. putting different tweaks from different Subarus got it mixed up..
  8. That is GREAT NEWS!! let me know how much and what it will cost to ship it down to me... I'm working with drivesubies on hard to find parts now too..
  9. Some more progress made the past few days... Got the drip rails on the top shaved and rewelded the seams and also started on of the unique touches I am adding to it... Adding the Subaru Brat Fuel door.. here are some pics. The fuel door needs a little more adjustment before welding the panel down, going to try and inset it a little bit more.. Trunk is stripped along with almost the whole front clip.. probably going to have to fabricate a whole new front panel since there is no NOS for this piece...
  10. I want every part you have!! A New Grill would be great! If the larger Radiator doesn't leak I will fix the fins.. master cylinder and cups are a must along with the seat belts! If you could snap a shot of the dash it would be beneficial, wish I were closer to make the drive to there. Email and this forum is the best way to get a hold of me, but I will try my hardest to call Charlie this weekend when I get a chance.
  11. Paul, I am in need of all this stuff for my 71 FF-1 the special tools kit An all intact front grill Front Windshield Both radiators Front dash if in great shape Brake master cylinder Front bumper valance (behind actual bumper) Seat belts Set of 14" or bigger wheels If he possibly has them the clear corner lenses for the front marker lights.
  12. Clegg's also sells the EA71 rebuild kit, I just purchased mine through them. You can also by a crankshaft through them too.. http://www.cleggengine.com
  13. I am looking for all the special tools that were available for the FF-1, if you know someone that has them for sale or willing to loan me (I can pay for shipping) please let me know.
  14. 360 Van another one of my fav's! I may search for one of those later on in life... I should have some updated pics of the progress from this week hopefully by weeks end.. Parts continue to roll in daily for it new Shocks and the fuel pump showed up in the mail today. I also finally got my work bench and stuff built this past weekend so I now have space to rebuild the motor and suspension..
  15. Finally made it to the shop today to check out what progress had been made while I was out of town. Progress has been slower because of the cold weather and holidays, so only got the trunk, quarter panel, and hood sanded down to bare metal... I am going to go in Saturday and try to get the sand blasting finished on the whole car. Will post another update again next week. A couple pictures...
  16. Awesome Thanks for the info! I will go measure the old dash and check it out..
  17. JDM mirrors are one of the Ebay specialties! I will post a link to them when I get home from work. I will try and take pictures of each process of the tear down, hopefully starting on it this weekend just depends on the weather.
  18. Does anyone know if I would be able to retrofit a 72-73 GL Coupe Dash into my 1971 FF-1 Sedan? If anyone has a 72 GL and could measure it up it would be greatly appreciated!
  19. A good day yesterday! My engine rebuild kit came for the EA71 that's going into it, so I will be starting that tear down and rebuild next weekend. Also got the JDM fender mirrors and other goodies in the mail the past couple weeks.. lots of other parts are set to arrive this next week. I will head out to the shop on Monday to shoot some updated shots of the bodywork progress.. its coming along great! Happy Parts!!
  20. Really trying to stay with the EA71, but if the right motor came along I would have to jump on it. I have a EA71 already here that I can rebuild, but if I could find one turn key ready and cheaper than the price to rebuild mine I will buy that. Cheapest I have found the rebuild kits are 350 then I will need to add in the machine work I cannot do myself.. my motor has 2 cylinders with low compression (haven't cracked it open to figure out why yet)
  21. If the guy would ship them or maybe if you know a company there I could go through to get it shipped down to me.. I would totally attempt at persuading.. the EA71 is perfect for what I need especially if it is in good running condition..
  22. Got the car dropped off at the body shop today, so the build should be moving faster the next couple of months. I will post updates weekly.. The interior has been completely POR15'd minus the actual doors, we will be doing those over at the shop.. What little panel work I was able to accomplish at the house was the fenders and rear end. Decided to stop all other work and find a bodyshop I can work out of rather than dirty up my garage with all the paint stripping and sheet metal work that I need to do.. I will post an update next week with what I could accomplish over the weekend and prior to my vacation..
