  1. heres a couple pics of a short trip me and a buddy took this weekend. im all stock waiting on my lift...
  2. heres a quick question... so i just bought a 2" lift for my 88 GL wagon.. like its in the mail... and i have 15" wheels and just found a smokin deal on some 215 75r15 bfgoodrich all terrains... will they fit??? im not afraid to trim and bash abit but even with bashing and trimming would they fit??? i see some tires around the same size on here on 2" kits but most of them are on 14" pugs...
  3. hey man im in rexburg and new to the forum... ive got a 88 GL 4wd im lifting it this weekend and putting some fatter rubber under it too... well have to get a trip going sometime... what kind of subie you got? and do you know anyother subie dudes around East Idaho that would be down for a trip?

  4. so if you hammer the studs out the hub might not want to hold the stud again? and when drilling a hole in the hub, do you have to chamfer the back of the hub at all for the stud to lock in good or will one 9/16 hole work with any stud? i want to drill out the hubs on my 88 GL to fit my new alloy 15"s (6x5.5 pattern)
  5. thanks so much for all the help... i think im going to drill out the hubs... i got a great deal on the wheels and they would look awesome on my rig! so i simply pull the hubs off and bring new bolts to the machinist and he should know what to do right???
  6. ok yeah ill sell them... not a big deal... thanks for your help
  7. so i got a great deal on CL for these 15" wheels for 40 bucks. the are a 6x5.5 pattern and i want to drill out two holes to get the 4x5.5 pattern i need for my 88 gl... ive been looking around on here and cant find what im looking for... so i took the wheels to a machinist and they want 140 to drill and chamfer new holes... is there a way i could do it myself with a simple power drill? another problem i found was that on the back side of the wheel there are dips in the wheel that im not sure what to do to deal with them... should i use washers or some sort of space to fill the hole when the bolt goes through??? here are some pics of the stuff im talking about... any help is appreciated... thanks
  8. Same 15 inch pugs with caps and lugs can meet you in mcCall 250.00

  9. yeah im running a stock motor, im thinking i might actually stick with a 2" lift to avoid messing with the steering shaft. i know its probably not that hard but i dont have tools or skill to fabricate a extension. and a 2" lift is a little cheaper. i found a deal on CL for some old 6 lug toyota 15" rims. will those fit if i drill two holes? and Cyfun what tires did you get at walmart? where they decent for off road traction?
  10. oh yeah??? well i might just do that... cause from what ive seen on here it looks like i can fit some 27-28ish tires on a 2" lift... with some trimming... so i might just do that... what is a good tire for just your average muddy/snowy trails? Sure do appreciate all the help!
  11. Hey just bought my subie and lookin to set it up! its a 88 Gl wagon and im looking for wheel and tire combos... im putting a 4 inch sjr lift on it so im thinkin ill pack some 215s under it. anyone got any wheels and/or tires they are willing to part with??? let me know what you got and how much you want
  12. thanks guys! and so for steering, is there anywhere i can buy the stuff i need to lengthen my steering? or are there any plans or pictures of a job someone did lenthening theirs?
  13. hey thanks yeah ive been reading up on tires that fit with no lift. i wonder cause the tires on it are bout dead and a would like to just go up to the size i want. 215/75/15 s some bfg ATs i would love to throw a set of those on her. but im thinkin i would need 3" on lift. (judging by what ive seen on here) is all the lifting something that could all be down on a saturday with just your standard jacks? and about how much does a 3" lift cost?
  14. Hey everybody, just got my 88 GL 5speed with dual range. runs great and everything works awesome. I am a little overwhelmed with what all seems to go into a lift on these things... is there any way to go the spacer route? im new to this kind of stuff and would love some help... dumb it down for me. ive been through the FAQs and not really finding what i want. if anyone has pics... i maybe want 2" of lift wit some 28-30" bfgs. can i fit those with 2"? i just want some decent clearance to get my rig up the mountain trails we got here in idaho. help me out and let me know what i need to do to get my rig on the trail. Thanks!
