  1. I am going to look at a couple of gen 1 Brats tomorrow. I rode in these about 25 years ago on a old friend of my parents cattle ranch. I figured it could not hurt to call and ask if he still had them after all these years. He still does! He told me to come out tomorrow and check them out. He said they have not ran in years but if I want them I am more than welcome to take them. So I will go check them out and if I want them, which I know I will. Even if they are just for parts. Can't pass on free Brats.
  2. Now I am not sure if I need a cat or not on my Brat. It is a 78 but it has a replacement door on it from a 79. It says non catalyst. But I do not think that will fly with the smog techs. Any other way I can figure out if I need a cat or not?
  3. Ok, I just need to know what a Brat had for emissions on the exhaust in 1978. I work at a exhaust shop where we build headers. I should have no problem making a new system. I just need to know what a California Brat has to have on the exhaust after the y pipe to make it pass emisions.
  4. I should clarify that the y pipe is still good. But, from there on back I need the exhaust. Let me know if you get a hold of these parts. Thanks.
  5. The exhaust on my 78 Brat is junk. A previous owner hacked it up and I would like to find a replacement for it. I tried to win one on ebay but I got out bid! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. I did this conversion on my 78 Brat. Took the brakes out of a 87 GL-10 turbo wagon. I had to do some grinding to clear the caliper mounting bolts. I also had to take some material off the backing plate in a couple of spots. I need to go back and weld in around the places I ground to reinforce the old spot welds. Just don't want it to break somewhere down the road. But the work was simple and quick. Probably did the whole conversion in about an hour or an hour and a half.
  7. Thanks for the info guys. I have everything I need to put them in (seatbelts, headrests), now just to do it. Thanks again!
  8. I need to know if they are still legal to ride in the seats in the back of a Brat in California. If not I will not waste my time reinstalling them in my Brat. Any help would be great thanks!
  9. No such thing as a 87 legacy wagon. Got to be a GL or DL.
  10. Thanks for letting me know. I have a 89 GL 10 turbo wagon with lousy air struts. The front one leak out every time I park it. I have found a wrecked gl 4x4 wagon down the street from my house. I am trying to find the owner so I can see if I can take it off their hands and get the suspension.
  11. Thanks. I did not think they were worth that much but glad to hear it.
  12. I am taking the LSD out of a donor 87 GL 10 turbo wagon. Along with pretty much everything else. Just wanted to know if any of you could tell me what one of these goes for used. It has 129,000 miles on it. Thanks.
