  1. If she can make it stick and make it hook, this could be interesting. From a drag racing perspective, once she's launched it, the awd system is dead weight and lost power.
  2. She can cook her rump roast off, she stays. I'm asking $1K because I wound up putting a $85 battery in it and a new Sony head unit, which I went through holy hell getting to work.
  3. Update: I've put 2,000 miles on it with no problems, but my friends think it's the ugliest car in the history of cars. The girlfriend says it goes, or I go. So it's unfortunately leaving me. Maybe I can talk her into a coupe or sedan.
  4. By the way, the valves sound like a goddamned typewriter. My father had one years ago, and knows how to adjust the valves. He says that should fix the tick and get it more power. Is he right? Also, is this "tick of death" anything more than an annoyance, or is it actually harmful? I'm fairly certain I have it, and I find it somewhat endearing.
  5. Some of you may know the car from Erie Craigslist. The owner also has a five-speed converted turbo Legacy. I plan on using it as a daily driver and road trip slut because of its gas mileage. I need new seats, dash, and console, so if anyone has beige interior parts, I will probably buy them.
  6. Picked it up yesterday. Interior is utterly trashed, but the rest is beautiful. 176K original miles.
  7. I have a 1990 TSi AWD. It's not modded much, but I still love it to death.
  8. I meant FWD. As a DSM owner, i'm convinced two-wheel-drive is wrong-wheel drive, though.
  9. While I don't have any Scoob experience yet, I high centered my TSi AWD back in high school, but other than that, never had issues. I even used it to free my neighbor's 2wd F-250.
  10. I'm plan to crawl under it. Oh, also, it's wrong-wheel-drive, if that makes a difference with mechanical issues. Are there any wear issues specific to older Subarus that I should keep an eye out for?
  11. It's a 1984 DL wagon. It's a five-speed. It's a rust-free car from AZ, and it "runs and drives great." That being said, I don't know much about it. I'm going to pick it up Sunday. What are the most common mechanical issues with these cars? What should I keep my eye out for?
  12. Thank you all for your help. If anyone knows of any EA82T cars for sale within 500 miles of Cleveland for around $400-$800, that'd be great. I'm having almost no luck on ebaymotors, autotrader.com, and cars.com.
  13. ...without looking under the hood. I'm often conversing online or via phone with non-enthusiast sellers, or car dealers who know nothing about these cars. How can I help them help me?
  14. Hi. I'm a DSM enthusiast in search of an EA82T-powered scooby for a daily driver, and I'm here to do some research. I'm from Cleveland, OH, and am always down for some late night coffee, eats, highway runs, and parking lot loitering. There's more old-school subaru knowledge here than I ever knew existed, so I think I'll stick around a while as I continue to search for the next sleeper with which I'll scare the s*** out of the local ricers.
