  1. I own a 98 Imprezza OBS .....its as easy as you can get. Open hood........remove one screw that sits in the corner above the light... gently push the lens toward the front of the car.....remove light assembley by turning ........install new bulb........and reverse the above.
  2. Although your not talking about the AWD advantage..it is possibly one good reason you will not be involved in a crash in the first place. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Big thanks to all that replied.........took it to the car wash............ ABS light all gone.......i will go find some ice (in an empty parking lot) and make sure the ABS still kicks in........ Robb
  4. No...........no unusual sounds at all from the engine after its turned off.

  6. Hello all............ Have a 98 impreza OBS ......ABS light just came on.......and stays on I did do some rocking in my driveway last night in heavy snow (12") for a few minutes to get unstuck..........any thoughts if this is related and what i do next? Thanks for all input !
  7. I drive a Impreza Outback sport..love it i think id use the roof rack......and save money with better gas mileage from the Impreza.
  8. Hello........Thinking of buying the wife a 2003 Forester. Automatic with the 2.5 engine. Any thoughts on the engine... ive heard some bad things on the 2.5. Any responses appreciated! Thanks
  9. after reading about all the head gasket issues and problems with the 2.5 interference type engine.....can anybody tell me why Subaru designs engines with rubber timing belts instead of metal ones? I,ve had many GM vehicles over 100,000 miles.......never replaced a timing belt on any. Starting to wonder about my own 98 2.2 Impreza...... and maybe the Forester i was going to buy for the wife needs some more thought..... any thoughts from you appreciated...!

  11. ...........Thanks gbhrpsgood luck on your end too. My switch is just under the center air vents in the middle, right of the hazard switch and left of the cup holder . Was hoping someone would post what to get into first......one thing i hate is to bungle up a good interior by guessing.
  12. Have a light bulb out in my rear defogger switch (the icon ,, not the indicator that shows its on). Dealer says i have to replace the entire switch at 77$ plus labor. Sounds kinda crazy........to replace a switch (that works) because a bulb is blown. Can anyone tell me the first few steps to get at the bulb in the rear defogger switch? Its a 98 Impreza Outback Sport. Thanks for any input from the board. Robb
  13. Time for a spark plug change on a 98 impreza 2.2 outback sport. Should i put the same type of oem plug back in or..... does anyone have a suggestion on a upgraded plug for better performance or better gas mileage? Thanks for all relpy's ! Robb

  17. New to this forum....hello to all I own a 98 impreza outback sport....seems to be pretty hard to find a simple Hanes Shop manual for that year. Im looking for simple instructions ( or maybe there not simple lol) for changing front parking lamp bulbs.......and putting in a new bulb for the interior dash rear defogger switch ( how do i get in there ? ) Any help appreciated. Thanks
