  1. I have a problem with my 02 subaru wrx wagon. I just bought and am happy with most results, however the rear running lights don't work fuses are ok I read a thread from 2003 to no avail. Any suggestions?
  2. I have an 85 gl hatchback 4wd and had an elecrtical problem. I ran some tests and it was the alternator. I went out and bought a new one and bought a voltage regulator because I haven't worked on these before. I couldn't find the regulator and in a search I found that some of these cars have an internal regulator. Would someone help me out. I want to know if I should return the regulator.
  3. this is really just an idea me and a friend had a couple of days ago. I like the hatchbacks function and I don't really need a wrx. I was checking out the feasibility. Now I think I'll look into the money it'll cost. If anyone knows of a reputable engine company (or any wrx component shop for that matter) that I could call and price. I'm hoping to have enough $$$ by mid-late summer.
  4. Yeah, I would like to do this but need a lot more info on this. I read in another chat room that something of the sort is being done and that the person is on this site. I searched (briefly) through some links but didn't find anything substantial. I also learned that the the wrx and gl use a horizontally positioned engine bay so the conversion would work better. also do you think that the sti would work in a gl hatchback?
  5. I was just wondering if anybody has actually looked into a conversion to make the ultimate subaru sleeper. I've been looking around at just getting a new wrx but I think something like this that has never been done would be much more fun.my friend thought the mounts would be similar. I was kind of doubtful but to do this would be an incredible feat, please give info. thoughts, anything.
  6. i found the linkage fix and haven't taken the time to look for the tranny flush, thanks for the ideas and I hope to stay on the board. I will look into the rislone stuff, this has already proven to be a helpful source4 for information.
  7. I recently purchased a 1985 subaru gl hatchback and am so far impressed. I am still looking to upgrade the motor interior etc. there are two possible problems. first is there is a slight vibration that comes up at random. I read a thread that said this could be either imbalances or the drivshaft, the tires look bald so it could also be an alignment problem. Also there is some grinding when shifting in to third, all the other gears are fine. The linkage feels real loose. Could this be a factor or is the transmission on it's last legs. Any insight or any comments at all would be much appreciated.
