  1. After Fitting New Seals To The Oil Pump Still Have Noise But Only Very Occasionally, Can Any One Help
  2. bypass your dimmer with a jumper lead or a test lamp but be careful
  3. after fitting an air con and its wiring loom from another suby but an earlier model i had trouble finding the where to wire it to the main loom .i had no wiring diagram and my gregories manual was no help, the wreckers where i purchased it from where no help so i found another suby with air and traced the wiring to an a/c switch on the dash (different than mine) but the wiring and plugs where the same in the loom i purchased.I tested the plug on mine and with a jump lead was able to get the a/c to operate then i found a spare plug in my main lom coming from the a/c switch changed the plug and socket because they where different and bingo the a/c works perpectly
  4. While the engine is cold take the spark plugs out and turn the motor over a few times with the starter and see if there is any coolant coming out ,or disconnect the coil so there is no spark and turn engine over a few times with the starter and then take the plugs out and chech for signs of coolant but be carful when diagnosing it may not be head gasket and i am no expert on subarus.
  5. SUCK IT AND SEE!!!! NO NOT REALLY. I have an 88 wagon but it could be different because of year and emmission requirments in australia. but your fuel supply will have a filter on it somewhere maybe under the vehicle.
  6. Need To Know How And Where The Air Con Switch Connects To The Air Con Loom, What Does The Sender Unit On The Front Of The Compressor Do
  7. HAVE 88 GL 4WD WAGON and have just fitted an Hitachi air conditioner from another Subi. Had to fit the wiring loom too, but I didn't take the loom off the other Subi and I'm having trouble with wiring. I think I need to get a connection to the push button air con. switch on the dash but since its part of the existing loom I can't see where or how it connects and it would help if I had a wiring diagram. I know some one out there knows. I think under the bonnett is wired ok.although im not sure about looping in the radiator fan to work on the thermal switch and the a/c. I have a gregories manual but it has nothing on air con or its wiring. HELP HELP HELP!!!
  8. If your clutch fork has got clearance then replace the clutch ,and as it has been slipping you probably need to look at the fly wheel surface for scouring and get it machined if possible but it depends on how fussy you are ,check your spigot bearing i.e. the bearing in the middle of the fly wheel and if it feels grindy at all replace it ,bearings are cheap, to get the bearing out use a stick of dry lube and fill up the cavity behind bearing and use a close fitting punch through the inside of the bearing ,give it a tap and the hydraulic pressure will push the bearing out.Fit a new bearing by hitting on the outer race. Replace the clutch plate and pressure plate and the clutch thrust bearing , dont muck around because if its been slipping everything has probably been overheated. There are a few tricks to lining up your clutch plate If you need to know.
  9. I need inforation on air con circuit in an 88 gl wagon what do all the sensors do?
  10. Have fitted air-conditioning to my '88 GL wagon Hitachi aircon from another Subaru and had to fit the wiring loom as well. I'm having trouble connecting the wiring loom in and would like to have a look at a wiring diagram. Can anyone help me? Just spent the last 4 hours trying to nut it out and can't.
  11. Am fitting air coditioner wiring loom to 88 wagon there is a single blue connector under dash my question is where does it go? It is part of the air con. loom.
  12. need help fitting power steering and air conditioning to my 88 subaru.I have the engine out.A wiring diagram would be good and any other help in general.while the engine is out I have replaced timing belts and oil pump seal and o rings. The belt tentioner bearings needed replacing so i ground off the lip that holds the bearing on and fitted a new bearing for $6 and used a bolt from a dyna bolt to retain it.
