  1. Just putting this out there as far as crash/rollover safety goes, my buddy rolled his 1995 Legacy Wagon 8 times on a 350 yard stretch of I5 in California after being side swiped and over correcting. Three people in the car, one laying in the back seat without a seat belt and no major injuries. Just cuts from the shattered glass everywhere.

  3. I've got a 97 Legacy Outback that needs an alternator, and I just so happened to have an Extra 92 Legacy Alternator. The positive plug ins are different but everything else matches up so I'm going out on a limb and assuming the 92 Alternator will work for the 97. Is there a way to make these plugs compatible?
  4. Just an update, I swapped stereos and fuses. Still nothing. It seems to me I'm not power to the radio. I just have no clue what can cause that besides a bad fuse or bad stereo.
  5. So I just picked up a 97 Legacy Outback with 130k for $3000. It had the stock radio in it until one day I took it out to hook up a sub and amp. When I took the stereo out I tore 2 wires on accident. A yellow wire and a green and white wire. I connected them and put the radio back in seeing as it isn't compatible with a sub or amp. The radio wasn't working so I checked the fuse and it was blown. I replaced the fuse, still no radio, ensured the wires that tore were connected and they were. Still nothing. Think I fried the radio? Im about to go on a 4 hour road trip in a few days and I want some tunes. Help?
  6. So here's the full story to help you folks out. I pulled up to a light and I went to pull my phone out of my console and bumped my shifter into Neutral. I then pushed the gas, realized it was in nuetral, and put it into drive and nothing. I could push on the gas all i wantes and it would go nowhere. The spedometer and tach move. Its an automatic, 1990 Legacy.
  7. So Northwet, if I do that would it make the car rear wheel drive and would it be possible to drive it to a shop?
  8. Its a 1990 awd wagon. Thats what I thought but even if I had a stripped out axle I would still move since technically there are 3 others.
  9. My legacy wagon won't go into any gear. I can put it in drive and hit the gas and the RPMs will go up, as well as the speedometer, but the car will not move. HELP!?
  10. So yesterday while driving up in the hills I began to notice my engine, when in drive, would act like its in neutral. No power, no shifting, high RPMs. So I pulled to the side of te road and found a mess of Transmission Fluid all over the ground. It seemed the Hose feeding into the radiator had sliced open. I got a tow from a few rednecks back down the mountain to their place where they helped fix the hose and filled the system with tranny fluid, nothing....I managed to limp Back into town and took the car to my friends where we flushed the system and put everything back together. Nothing still. Any ideas on what this could be? It must be internal now...
  11. Would my 90 Lego on Outback Struts and 27' tires do ok up there? I've never been up there, but I have about 11in Ground Clearance under my oil pan.
  12. So far this summer I've put my 90 Legacy on Outback Struts, Stuffed some 27' General Grabber AT2's...yea, be jealous .. Sealed up my snorkel, and Hit Larch Mountain a few times. Decent wheeling up there. I'm in Vancouver, WA and i really want to have a Offroad meet up sometime before summer ends. Any ideas on where, and when?
  13. Will i have any lose of power or have to make any modifications by using 2.2 heads on a 2.5 engine? That just sounds strange to me, but i feel you know what youre talking about sooooo.....
  14. So I just recently raised my Legacy onto Outback Suspension and put 27' General Grabber AT2's on her. I've noticed a HUGE loss of power, which I expected. With a tired out EJ22 I know its time for an engine swap in the short future. My question is, What are my options? I dont want a EJ25 because of the common HG problems. Would a 3.0 out of an H6 Outback work? I'm open to just about anything, but I wanna try to keep it subaru.
  15. Thats what I was thinking as far as top hats go. And you can confirm the sway bar link process, as far as that being the solution?
  16. Does un doing the sway bar links work better than un boltig the cv joint from the hub and hanging the hub down? Thats what we were thinking of doing.
  17. So my buddys and I are halfway through a suspension lift using Legacy Outback Struts on my 1990 Legacy. The front is done, the rear however is giving us some trouble. It appears the Legacy Outback Struts for the rear are too long. We cant get them into position because the hub is getting in the way no matter how much we try. And the top hats look a little too big. I think I read something about drilling another hole? Any Help is appreciated!
