I bought a 2000 Subaru 2 years ago with 144,000 miles on it, learned from a Chiltons guide how to do the timing belt and wish to learn more about how to deal with the new diagnostic system. I got a P1507 diagnostic that indicates an idle failure. Whe

  1. I've loved my 2000 outback, but am thinking of buying a 2009 forester for the extra space and clearance, but fear I'll lose some of the ride and handling of the outback. Any ideas? Some say the forester rattles more. Should I care? With the unibody design you'd thing the forester would be better? What are the differences in weigh if I decide to tow the manual with my RV? Thanks anyone.
  2. I have a 2000 Subaru outback and have been having brief stalling problems once in a while. When I add fuel injector cleaner, it seems to clear up the problem. I believe the MAP sensor may need to be cleaned, but I can't find it between the air filter and the intake. Where is it? Inside the air filter box perhaps?
  3. I drove my 2000 outback to CA and it got a check engine light with a p1507 reading. The engine would cut out briefly at low to medium throttle, not a clutch issue. When I came back to CO 5,600' the light went off and the stalling stopped. Any ideas?
