  1. Absolutely right. Turn a little back tighten. Turn a little tighten. Reinstall with Copper coat or Never Seize.^^^^^^^
  2. Listen to the above. Thought the same thing in my early years.
  3. Judging by the schematic and the legend. W is constant battery voltage. Y is your ignition battery voltage or excite wire. BW sais other current....... Try leaving that disconnected.
  4. I cracked up when you said out of warranty.....LOL. Where are you checking? I have gotten them for older roo's at NAPA and Federated?
  5. I like E6000. Gorilla glue make a bubbled up big mess.....
  6. Coolant goes through the intake.... Replace with OEM Subaru gaskets and it will be fine.
  7. Be sure and disconnect clean and reconnect and ziptie those round engine harness connectors. I mean push the snot out of them.
  8. Hello All, So I successfully converted to a dual range transmission. So it drives awesome! Problem is that the 4wd light does not work? So I have 3 other single range transmissions on the ground. The switches look the same but won't work? Any idears? Thanks, Eric
  9. Isolate your alternator. Just connect your battery + charge wire. The T connector has two wires. The top part of the T is ignition hot or excite wire. Connect a hot wire directly to the top part of the T to battery. Check out put of alternator at alternator with battery connected to positive and not. Be careful. Also be sure that your grounds are good and making contact. Block to body, block to battery. Cheers,
  10. Is the alternator brand new or is it rebuilt from auto-zone or something. Take your alternator to your local Battery Systems. This sounds like an incorrectly assembled alt. Overvoltage is everbit as damaging as undervoltage. Get this checked thoroughly before you do to much more troubleshooting. Just Me Though. Cheers,
  11. Just curious if your hearing the transaxle support bushing that is completely gone?
  12. Listen to the above. Start by double checking timing. Also the coil packs don't like to be fired without a solid ground when testing. Many a new coil pack has been roasted by improper grounding. How are you testing your spark? Screwdriver in wire is not a good idea. You should use a proper spark tester or solid alligator clips on base of plug to block. Cheers,
  13. Uhmmm, In case you were not aware rust is everywhere in Michigan. Every car has a rust problem in Michigan.... Anyways depending on the severity and location it can be done by welding and bondo. It all really depends on your skill level and patience. Cheers, Eric
  14. A little heat from a propane torch does wonders........
  15. Hello All, So I went through the 139 posts on Speedometer Cables on the site. Well I found a couple of really good ones. What a pain in the backside. I am not very agile these day and found it easier to remove the front seat. I removed the covers under the steering wheel and dropped the computer down. I could now feed the cable through and actually see the back of the cluster. It was kinda high up there but with my mobility issues I could see it go into the hole. I was pretty happy. Have Fun Ya'all!
  16. I am working in Denver for a couple of weeks...........Do you have a shop floor scrubber that needs repaired?.........LOL.
  17. Got to work at the Subaru Technical Training Center in Aurora Co. Heidi gave me a personal tour. She thought I was going to have a heart attack....LOL. Loved it. New engines, New technology, hell I was even interested in the Hybrid demo table. Thanks, Subaru!!!!!!!!!!!
