  1. So does B.R.A.T stand for Bi Range All Terrain ?
  2. good move  http://members.aol.com/subaru3/ must be doing some updates !
  3. So then you guy's are telling me that it's a tranny bearing ? I am doing a single range to dual range swap,as soon as the rain stop's. So this should fix the noise ?
  4. Is the input shaft bearing known under another name ? Can't seem to find it in my repair manual. Do you know where it is exactly located ? Thanks
  5. EA81, bit of a rumble when clutch pedal released, quite noticable in the cab and while driving. Depressed pedal makes the noise go away. Have searched here and numerous motor mechanical sites and have been told 50/50 GB/Clutch. and then I read that if the noise is there in neutral with clutch depressed, it's the clutch, and if the noise is there with the clutch pedal released, it's the trany. What do you guy's/gal's think ? I'm sure someone here has experienced this.
  6. Would the rear diff bind ? Just the same when you run an 84 Wagon in 4WD on tar ?
  7. Get a new thermoswith for the radiator. I got mine for $10 in Aus so they should be cheap there !
  8. Thanks guys, I look forward to some pics. I have reinstalled the original radio until I have more of an idea I how I should mount it. I've done alot of work on this car, and don't want to have a badly/ugly mounted radio. I might go out and find a spare console to experiment on ! you can email pics to quombone@gmail.com Thanks
  9. what do I search under......? radio /stereo ??? tried all !
  10. I have a couple of aftermarket radio/cassette players, I'm trying to install one to the wagon, but am having lots of probs. It seems too deep to fit. How do others here install aftermarket units ? Has anyone got a diagram/pic or suggestions on where it will fit ? Many Thanks
  11. What would be going bad here ? It's a whirling/rubbing kind of sound. thanx
  12. just to add what I did, I only used one stock jack on a concrete block (for height) under the tranny and the engine was supported by the engine hoist. Lift both until the engine clears the mounts, undo the 4 bolts etc that joints it to the tranny, slide forward (raditaor removed) lift it out. (disconect everything to the engine beforehand of course:))
  13. Yes, EA81, MY83 Wagon. I have a parts car here that I might experiment on first, but would prefer someone who has removed it sucessfully, or what tools/techniques they have tried !
  14. HI, Got a bit of rust in one of the roof gutters and the best way I think to fix it, is to remove the chrome trim. Is there a method to this ? Have done a few searches with no results ! Cheers
